While I’ve got you all here, anyone know anything about this one in Seattle?
This one actually seems like a solid deal from a private owner

Nah this is the kind of stuff I definitely wanna know. I keep hoping that these independent dealers aren’t trying to semi-scam folks but that just seems like the case. Could totally be a good truck, but the fact that it’s auction vehicles is worrisome.
If they still have it next week I’ll...
Yeah maybe I’m just a sucker for the look, haha. The thing that makes me annoyed is he told me that he bought it with the wheels and tires on it. Said he fixed a few things
a lot of the independent dealers in Portland seem to buy these, clean em up, and sell them for between 20-30k. Which is...
I guess I've missed this one in the past few months of looking, it just popped up for me about 2 weeks ago. They told me someone was looking to buy it today, so maybe I'll follow up later this week. Chatted with Land Cruiser Specialities and they can't get an inspection in until next week...
Dang. Had a weird feeling about this, the guy was super chatty. Told me he bought it off someone in Seattle with the tires already on there, which I found a bit suspicious because they looked brand new. Bummer. Won't be looking there again I guess.
Took a look at this one on Friday, was very clean and looked good to me (I'm a novice, so I'm going to try and have it inspected, but I might have to beat someone to buying it)

Asking 19,995, seems...
I think that's what to expect in an enthusiast environment though. I'm taking all of this info and processing it for myself. I owned a 2000 Toyota Camry for about 8-9 years, it took me across the country twice. I had some very minor issues, like radiator, small oil leak, etc. But nothing ever...
Everything you guys are saying makes total sense! This is all stuff I had sort of gathered watching vids / reading articles, so I’m certainly prepared for this.
my dad was a mechanic, so I’ve got at least some decent DIY knowledge. My brother also has done a ton of mechanic work, so if anything...
Yeah, definitely ready for the higher cost of running this. Thankfully there's two LC shops in Portland, so the next one I won't be so impatient and just wait on their schedule.
Considered the Tacoma and 4Runner heavily for quite some time. After test driving a few, I just found them to be a little small for me (driving, and space in the back to build a sleeping platform etc.) The land cruiser has been on my radar for 6 months because I can get a good one for a lot less...
Thanks to everyone who responded, decided I'm not going to go through with it after the PPI. So I guess I'll be hitting the classifieds and craigslist again, womp
Just trying to do my due diligence here lawrence! Gotta make absolutely sure it's not something that I should pursue after spending money on a PPI. No need to be so didactic! After seeing the report and listening to all of you I'm not going to move forward with it. Take it easy on someone who...
Haha, alright. It's attached. To be honest I'm a bit dissapointed in this report, as it mostly focuses on the cosmetics which really are the last of my concerns. No codes reported for emissions though, so that's a win?
Alright, received the inspection from Lemon squad. The only mechanical issues listed are "The engine shows active oil leaks. The engine should be pressure washed off and rechecked to verify source of the leak or all leaks."
No codes for any emissions issues reported. I assume I'd have to have...
