    SOLD 1978 Toyota FJ40. San Diego, CA. 92008 $45,500

I get it, I do and totally agree. But I also believe that 44 thousand for an original paint, original US, original Cali truck that has a clean title as well as passed smog in Cali is a good deal actually. Especially for no rust in the door frames, no rust on rear seals and does 60 on the...

    SOLD 1978 Toyota FJ40. San Diego, CA. 92008 $45,500

Tough not to be sarcastic on this one........but in all seriousness, is their a limit on what you are allowed to post on mud? I'm not aware of one. Also, is this only for vehicles that want to be thrashed etc? This isn't an ICON vehicle, it's a well preserved, original patina'd paint, low...

    SOLD 1978 Toyota FJ40. San Diego, CA. 92008 $45,500

I did not. I bought it through a "middle" person. The PO had it sitting in an air conditioned garage for a few years. The original owner is a gentleman in NorCal who used it to go to the Sierras with his wife. His wife passed so he sold it. Her name was Lynn, so I've named the rig Lynn.

    SOLD 1978 Toyota FJ40. San Diego, CA. 92008 $45,500

Hahah you are correct!!!! I have to take out that 55 grand price etc. But the justification for the current price is the condition. Original paint, original low miles, runs perfect, the numbers are great. Let me know if any questions.

For Sale BAT - no reserve project

Buyers are buyers.....at each and every price point. I agree though, I don't see these as investments per se and don't see them as asset. But I do think that, as we get older along with these vehicles, that the rarity of the "original" ones should increase in price. Hence the US Spec 83...

For Sale BAT - no reserve project

Perfect.....awesome. Then you waited for the right buyer to buy your "product" and the price you had in mind. But probably didn't listen to the 20 people that argued or grumbled that they didn't like your price. And if they did, I'm pretty sure you told them to pack sand. I think paying 200...

For Sale BAT - no reserve project

Your reality is probably far different than another person's reality. It's always humorous on BaT or even here when people gripe or moan about the cost/price of something. Their reality changes fast though when they are the one's selling.

For Sale BAT - no reserve project

I tried to post my vehicle on BAT recently and they told me that in thier "market research" vehicles were going for cheaper than the reserve I wanted. When in fact how I settled on the price was based on the prices of vehicles that had recently sold on BaT. They definitely want to make their...

    1978 FJ40, Fuel Line/Leak Question

I usually park the rig facing down hill. With the ass end up and the nose down. I'm going to put her back on the slant tomorrow and trace the source a little better. Was hoping for the "oh hell, I had that same problem" answer ahahah.
