I'm swapping my cats to an aftermarket Jetex unit, there's loads of room under there and I've bought a 5" 200 cell high flow unit. Not had it fitted it yet but not anticipating any problems
If you're running lean you could have an exhaust leak upstream of the sensor...
Bearing was squealing on the back and diff oil pissed out when I slackened off the flanges. Inspected the bearings and they seemed good, probably just needed new seals and repacked with grease, but installed new bearings and races anyway
Am I the only one who just swaps in new parts as policy...
Well Partsouq had them listed for a '97
The attachment points look the same for these ones, but they're a lot taller than the ones I took off with the runner board cutouts. I think I'll buy them and give them a go
P/N's
7660460021
7660360021
If you find some please supply the part number. My attachments are just like yours. I bought 76603-60030 / 76604-60030 and they're not even nearly right
Hi Sam
This is the lever mod:
Various folk make slightly longer dog bones to spread the shoes a bit more at the top at rest. It's only 1 to 2 mm bigger but makes a lot of difference. I ordered the Terrain Tamer ones and they're high quality
Superior Engineering sell direct but they have...
We like to have the steering wheel on the other side of the car, and these things are rare in the UK, so I got to get the carpet from Aus - it's complicated. Will order this year and get her done
Rebuilt my entire hand brake / ebrake with new shoes, fittings, bell cranks, equaliser and cable
All genuine Toyota parts and adjusted correctly to FSM spec
Was totally useless...
Ordered the Superior Engineering hand brake lever modification + Terrain Tamer extended dog bones from Australia...
Very glad to hear you're dad is feeling better
Roughtrax do the whole front loom including 2 sensors for £520
I bought one 2nd hand from https://www.80breaker.com that worked fine
I needed to change one of these, used a 2nd hand unit, they're not very complicated and as long as it looks okay should work fine. That's assuming the harness didn't get ripped at the same time, in which case you should probably just bight the bullet. Check Partsouq and Amayama for the part...
New UJ's in the back
They're GMB though and I can't grease them installed, which is kind of lame. The nipple is right bang into the yoke, and an angled nipple wouldn't fit.
Will swap to genuine Toyota next year. At least they should come apart easily next time
