    1988 FJ62 with 295,000 miles with 33 x 10.5 KO2 with A/C is getting about 11.7 mpg. I am religous about filling up by 225 miles on the trip.

    I edited the original post. The GW wire doesn’t go through the turn signal any longer.

    Yes. The voltage drops to zero even if bulbs are not installed. I checked all the way to the terminal inside the housing. I also swapped out the combination light with a spare new one I have on the shelf.

    That's what I thought of as well. I am still hoping someone has had the same problem and a simple solution. Frankly, at this point any solution would be welcome.

    The turn signals are not connected. I have not checked AMPS to the rear lights.

    PROBLEM SOLVED! The solution was to take the whole fuse box out of the vehicle, clean it really well, and reinstall. Like magic it/they are working again. I received some great advice from one of the Land Cruiser legends here in Southern AZ. Thanks to everyone who had ideas on how to fix. Now...
