I'm afraid we're one ICECO's victims. They sent us a replacement after I was able to send them screenshots that displayed the irregularities. I'm not sure the replacement is much better.
We did some testing indoors and it passed the test when plugged in. It's when the fridge is in our truck...
Curious if you’ve moved on from making this and/or have an alternative suggestion. I don’t plan to use a hitch for much else than what was pictured above and for the very rare towing small trailer with supplies. Ie. nothing near the 6500 weight limit.
we recently bought the 2 zone iceco fridge.
After it worked inconsistently in the GX 2 instances in a row we were able to get a replacement from them. It took awhile but got it done. Phew.
But that didn't solve the problem. The new one is still inconstant [It won't reliably cool the zones...
We purchased a trasharoo for our 470 but do not have a rear tire to attach it to. I've seen a vehicle or two around town that had this so I figured there must be a way.
Well, now that we have it I'm not quite sure. Best I can come up with is that could use 4 J hooks to attach each strap to the...

curious what your experience is like with the iceco? I have the same as you and it seems to be having issues. The left side cools way cooler than set (6 degrees instead of 34) and the right side won't cool hardly at all (61 set to 34). So far can't find an troubleshooting info to speak of...
this is the one we are going to get:
https://icecofreezer.com/products/63-4qt-vl60-dual-zone-portable-fridge-with-cover
probably should have purchased it already as inflation has pushed the price up a bit :-(. I wanted to wait til closer to install time to purchase.
fair question.
1) I'm not sure where to bolt through the carpet and I'd like the platform to be very solid. I think it'll be easier to see where to bolt through with carpet gone.
2) with a family of 4 and soon to be 5 space is at a premium...every square inch matters. But I'm happy to be talked...
yep, that's what I'm thinking. Do you think the noise is a non issue? I figure when we're loaded and have stuff back there it will drown out any noise that the carpet currently drowns.
As we continue our slow build I'd like to start prepping the rear of our GX.
Ultimately I like like something similar to this plate system for a fridge, drawer, etc.: Lexus GX470 2003-2009 1st Gen. Rear Plate System™ -...
no, we have a 470 (2004. bought it a year ago with 58k miles. Flew to LA from Phoenix to buy it :-). ), so those are the other build threads I'm going to focus on. But the trucks are close enough I think a lot of the ideas and mods are interchangeable.
re: skid plates. Ok thanks for the...
I've now read your entire build thread :-).
Good stuff thanks for posting everything! I've bookmarked a few other 470 builds that look worth reading.
my 2022 build out plans: Fridge, Dual battery, OBA, and awnbrella :-)
the not fun but have to do stuff: timing belt and CV boot.
Will...
This is good to know. When we bought our tires last year we were talked into some that are just shy of 33" by the tire shop
265/70R17. 2" lift.
Maybe when we replace them we'll go up bit. I do hate that we're losing height every time we air down.
That is good stuff. Thanks for this. I'm going to spend some time going through your build thread.
Electrical is something else I'd like to get done. (this winter want to do Fridge, OBA, and electrical, maybe ham radio too (currently studying for license).
I'd ike to copy this setup...
