    3B Pans are hen’s teeth, made of unobtainium. I have a 3B, all crusty and bought a brand new 13BT oil pan. One edge needs adapting as the bolts do not line up and I need oil returns for my turbo oil return, oil separator return, bypass oil filter return.

    I did turbocharge a 3L Hilux many years ago, successfully. The most important thing is crankcase ventilation and we used an oil separator with oil return and ducted the gasses pre turbo to be burnt off

    The OM642 is plagued with issues, majority of issues stem from poor oil choice and over extending the service interval. Best oil to use is the commercial heavy duty oil MB228.51 but not at all used by any dealership for passenger cars. The next best is MB229.52 All else are utter shiite!

    The paint is cracking. I am a MB Master Tech. They fail with a wobble so run the engine at idle and see if it wobbles. Max wobble is the thickness of a Quarter (coin).

    You are correct. Turbo compensates But when I am around 7,000 feet to 11,000 feet, I am coal rolling and is not a problem as I do not live there and can do a simple adjustment to compensate.
