Thank you. This means a lot to me! I will get it done in my somewhat painfully slow and meticulous way 🙃 but am enjoying every step as I hope everyone with cruiser builds can
Thank you. I feel very lucky to be able to do what I love :) that’s great! I am making changes and improving the aqualu tubs along the way. Please do follow along with my aqualu thread when I make it. I’m really hoping to give people on here a detailed look into how it works and I’m hungry for...
Thank you! Yes, that’s the plan. There’s a couple things I’ve been suggested. I’m definitely going for a stock form and function. I will be sure to post details on what I’ve chosen to do for everything. Unless I can find a better solution, I think my main plan of attack for the blind nuts is to...
Thanks! I’m from the Newmarket area. Are you from Ontario? And yes, it definitely helps doing a lot yourself. But most importantly, it means everything is done exactly how I want it done
And the awesome new (to me) 1979 Warn 8274 fitted. And believe it or not, it was made only one month before the truck came off the assembly line.
And once again, showing off the knuckles. I'm very proud of these as they took so much time and effort to get right.
Stay tuned for more updates...
To anybody wondering if my project is still happening, yes it is! Since posting last, I've had an interesting chapter in my life start. I went to visit Aqualu in Kelowna, BC and ended up getting a job doing design work with Todd. I've since moved to Kelowna and brought my cruiser with me! It was...
That’s a pretty small piece to take away and doesn’t allow the next person to convert it to LHD. I don’t think I can separate that piece. I might have a spare brace though. I’ll check today
Yes, I got the dash after since my original one was rotted out. I have all the pieces to convert it to LHD.
And yes, no higher transmission tunnel but it has the switches. I didn’t know they made more room for the H55F so I just learned something new 😁
I had set body mounts for the h55f and 3b...
Hi All,
Posting my tub here since I’ve decided to switch gears and go aluminum. I’ve gathered pretty much all the pieces to put the cruiser together but don’t have the time to do it. The tub is a late model with the gas tank underneath. It’s also got those nifty door switch spots on only the...
Update on the build! Hand finished knuckles and resurfaced them with sandpaper. Hard chromed to keep dirt & debris out of the birfields for long life. I have set the knuckles with an alignment tool and the differentials are in with backlash and mesh patterns set. New shocks finished it up nicely...
@Engineer8000 this is amazing! I had no idea this was out there. I will post again when I have a suitable part # for R1 and working blinker relay. Cheers
Thank you so much! This is awesome! I only get access to it mostly on weekends so I’ll take a look at mine on Saturday. I need to figure out the circuit to find resistance direction when heated. I’ll try to find a suitable replacement and keep this updated on what I can find. Thanks again...
@Engineer8000 that’s awesome! Yes please that would be great. :) If you have it open tomorrow, could you get a reading of its resistance cold? I can find the right part easier if there’s no identifiers or numbers. When I come to a replacement it would be great to document for anybody doing this...
Hi all, I’m working on small bits of my build and have run into the issue of two blinker relay boxes with blown thermistors. The original one with the truck has blown solenoids (and thermistor) and this one I picked up has just a blown thermistor.. looks like these are pretty prone to failing...
Haha thank you! Trying to bring it back to life! And yeah, powder coating will hopefully do away with the common cruiser rust spots & keep her running for years to come :)
