Richmason,
Perhaps these pics will give you another option, assuming you do NOT require to flip the single seat vertically like previous on 1989 LJ70. Like yourself, we have only 1 daughter and could make use of the extra space when mount a single seat at the rear of the small rig. Below was...
Jimmy2,
If you look closely at,
"Viewed from rear, both rear seats folded and flip vertical",
there are 2 "RINGs" on each side mounted to the floor board close to edge of wheel hump. You can either run a steel rod thru the bottom rear seats and hooked it to the RINGs or just latched them down...
continuation,
Viewed from rear, both rear seats folded and flip vertical
Viewed from side window, both rear seat folded and flip vertical
Both seats bolted down, two size 14mm on for each seat.
Closer view of size 14mm bolts.
Here it goes,
Viewed from driver side, rear seats open up
Viewed from rear, rear seats open up
Viewed from passenger side, rear seats open up
Per installer, the seats were still original upholstery.
Rear left seat folded, Rear right open up
Rear left seat folded, rear right...
they are actually REAR seats from Pajero..... NOT front.... each seat with 2 nut & bolt, acts like a hinge.... Will take some pics this evening and post...

NO idea on the year model of the Pajero rear seats (sorry)... It was recommended by the upholstery shop owner.... Took them, placed the pair at the rear bench area...... fit right in... so drilled 4 holes on the floor board, just make sure it does not drill thru the tank.... and mount 4 sets of...
Richmason,
I actually purchased a set of second had seats from Pajero-Mitsu. With this option, I could split (either left or right) the seats when ever I want it, just fold half and flip it vertical, while I still get to keep my original bench seats. Hope fully attached pic gives you a...
These was what I had. May be of interest to you.... Was undecided and that made me to have 1 bench and 1 front forward seat. I have only 1 daughter and she was then 11 years old...

Hi Gotoy,
I bought a 1989 LJ70 in Mar'2009,
My 1st vibration/death wobble (started intermittently) when hit small bumps and eventually could NOT get above 70km/hr in Nov'2009. Change steering damper and all steering/tie rods ball joints....Death wobble went away....
It came back again in...
Nuakameba,
Mine have been running 32"x11.5"/R15 (close to 290/75/15) for 2 year plus with +2" coil spring lift with NO problem. The vehicle stance could be viewed on this same registry,

Now back on Maxxis Buckshot 32"x11.5.
bbpjunk,
thanks for the tips. will check the caster this evening.

TRDLJ70,
Thanks for sharing... Am having similar dead wobble problem when it hits uneven roads after 70km/hr.
Will try to check the bearing at the bottom of steering wheel shaft on my 1989 LJ70 this weekend. Had change 100% of bushes, tie rods, damper while absorbers are about a year old and...
M Thompson,
I own a 1989 LJ70 since April last year, have
wheeled more than 5 times with it in Malaysian
rainforest and travelled up north (400km=250miles
range) a couple of times running at constant
speeds of (100-110)km/hr or (62-68)mph.
Of course continuous monitoring on both...
