Hey everybody... Apologies for the delayed response to your "page" @tonsofun ... Something is somehow stalled in my email in getting posting notices from a couple of places.
Anyway, looks cool (though I'm really a 60-series guy), but unfortunately, like the others, I don't know much...
@CreeperSleeper and @Hojack ... These look great, though I couldn't find the map view that you included Hojack, as that shows a route, Cascades to Coast, along the lines of what I've been wanting to find... Route #6. EDIT: Never mind... I didn't see the small "oohva.org" link there, different...
Oh, and if you want a really adventurous camp spot, I also stayed here this past week, at a fun spot a fair bit west of Bend... Google Maps - Campsite No facilities of any kind, just a wide-spot in the road as "dispersed camping" along Deschutes NF Road 1526-200. (The USFS Pole Creek...
A couple of places that have water nearby, and might have fishing (not a fisherman myself, but they look promising?)...
-- Back in 2019, stayed at a beautiful, out of the way, but relatively-developed campground along the upper Deschutes River, southwest of Bend, outside LaPine... Bull Bend...
Bumping this thread in hopes of finding out if and where the December Meet-n-Greet might be happening? Didn't see any updates on the Facebook page, so thought I'd check. I'm thinking to drive up with Beastly...
Bumping this thread, as it seems to do the trick... Took my combo switch apart following the excellent instructions from @screwbird (post #1 in this thread), and great photos from @Turkeypen (posts #5 & #7), sanded up all the contacts and seems to be much better. Haven't tried it on a longer...
I just replaced my wheels and tires on Beastly, so I'm giving away the original tires and wheels free to a good home. You can see them at this 'Mud posting...
Just replaced my long-lived BFG KO's, that are 32x11.5x15, with new KO2's on larger wheels.
So the previous set of tires, including the wheels, and the almost never-roaded spare, are FREE TO A GOOD HOME! They're given away in "as-is" condition.
If you're in the Eugene area, or really anywhere...
"In with the new, out with the old!" (Free tires further down in the post!)...
Looks like I'm going to miss coming up from Eugene for the club meeting this evening. But some of you saw the load of new tires/wheels I had in the back of Beastly at the June meeting. So I wanted to share a pic...
So, I realized not long after putting up this post that I was replicating almost the same exact question that had been asked in this forum a while back, and much more concisely, about 31's vs. 33's.
The answers pretty much cover all of my questions above, so I recommend going to and adding to...
Thanks, OSS... That's great to know. I seem to remember when I had the rear locker put in, that they needed to order alternate components because the gearing was different than they had expected (3.73? vs. the 4.10 you note). I'll check it out.
I posed this to some in my club, but thought I might post it to the 'MUD 60 forums, too, in case the discussion might help others down the road (and me before the tire sale runs out on June 1... ;) )
I'm trying to decide what tire up-size (and wheel up-size?), if any to do beyond what I...
Looking for same, for same application... Firestik antenna on a spring. Mine didn't have the grommet or the antenna... just the hole...:frown:
If anyone has an antenna grommet for a 60, or knows where I can find one, it would be great!
Happy to pay a fair price and shipping!
@unfortunately...
If you still have the OEM wheels, how "rusty" are they? :wrench::wrench::wrench:
And, you note you have "several"... does that stretch to a set of 4?
I'm down in Eugene, with my HJ60 recently back on the road after a long rebuild (like yours, not a restoration, but a get-it-running-solid-again endeavor, so far)... I just brought it up to Portland for one of the area's gatherings.
Is your HJ60 still in Australia, or here in the US? Glad to...
