Plan to get someone else to do it. Would like to know how hard it is to replace the seal...does the engine have to come out etc? Any idea of labor hours involved?

So is there heater duct out there for the defrost accessory? The defrost heater duct is no longer available from Toyota or CCOT. Has anyone built one from stock heater ducting? Defrost is a key function in New England
Honestly I think the factory lift on an FJ40 makes it look like a mail truck...and is also not very useful on a deeply rutted trail. Just need matching tires to go along with the lift. Thats on the Christmas list!
I would respectfully disagree with your view of rebuilding “correctly”. This rebuild is about serving my needs. If the truck can be improved to run trails using new technology then I will take advantage of it.
Its not. Watch the program. Its not flush against the quarter panel. If you look at the badge thats how its made...with a spacer between the badge and the quarter panel. Seems like a poor design which was the essence of my initial question
