    CVT rtt question

We have a Shasta that we purchased several years ago and I just noticed on our last outing that there are two straps attached to the last hoops on the stationary end. They have two loops sewn in on the non attached side and extend almost across to the othe other side. We don't have a clue what...

    Headlight switch issue

What are your prices on the restored one with the connector and do you have a connector for the other end? Mine was removed.

    Headlight switch issue

I looked at that, you would think the processes would be similar. Worth a try, thanks for the info.

    Headlight switch issue

I just finished reading some of your posts where a guy had basically the same wiring issues I have. The plug was discarded and replaced with 5 individual wires, all red. Thankfully, they were numbered on both ends. Do you sell the connectors for both ends? Is rehabbing the switch viable?

    Headlight switch issue

I've got a 75 FJ40 that has less than brilliant headlights. After replacing the headlights and not seeing any improvement I proceeded to check for wiring and connection issues. I discovered there was a voltage drop of a little over 2 volts coming out of the switch. I cleaned all the...

    Need input

This isn't really set up for off road. It does pretty well on logging roads here in Oregon though.

If I understand your response correctly, you're referencing stabilizing after parking. I'm trying to minimize swaying from side to side while towing. The chain idea is sort like a stabilizer to limit body roll.

I have a trailer that I repurposed into a camping trailer. I have a CVT tent mounted on it that is 5 feet from the ground. I experience a certain amount of rocking back and forth from side to side that a little disconcerting at times. I put air shocks under it has leaf springs as well as set...

What have you done to your Land Cruiser this week?

Yea, I'm trying to figure out how to do that. I was looking at the before pics last night and I've been working on this so long that I forgot how bad it was before I started. Felt so good about the results I grabbed a beer out of the frig to celebrate.

What have you done to your Land Cruiser this week?

I started mine. Blew a head gasket a year and half ago and after I pulled the engine for a rebuild, one thing led to another and another and so on. The fenders and bib go back on this weekend. I pulled everything of the firewall and got a pretty decent paint job on it. My first painting...

    cam removal

Do I have to drop the oil pan to remove cam while the engine is still in? it seems nearly impossible to guide the cam through the bearings without having access to the back of the cam for guiding.

    Single stage cure time

I took the aprons off the fenders and I'm spraying those parts and the bib this morning using Nason single stage paint. The plan is to put these back on Thursday around midday. My question is, will the paint be cured enough by then to start handling them that soon. I'm getting close to...

Wanted Late to the party, Fairey overdrive part needed

I have a Fairey that was working when I took it out. I had to replace my transmission at the time and as I recall I damaged some small pieces during the dismantle and never looked for replacements. I had thoughts of selling it complete as a parts unit. It came out of my 75. I know what you...

    Broken top piston rings

I just finished taking my 2F apart today and every piston had the top ring broken. This is my fourth engine that I've torn down (hardly an expert) but I've never encountered broken rings like this. The ridge at the top of the cylinders were not excessive, but you could catch your thumbnail on...
