As far as the vibration from the cv on AM units… what the heck causes it in the first place? What is it about OEM CVs vs AM that causes vibration? As far as I could tell they looked identical. Seemed to fit in tight and had decent weight to it? Just curious as to if anyone knows what creates the...
As far as the vibration goes IF it is from the CV would it be safe to continue driving until I order a OEM one or swap on the old cv after I reboot it?
Just took it in the freeway. It seems the vibration is only happening between 55-70mph with foot on the gas. Once I hit 75 the vibration completely disappears? Seems weird?
What does
what does deglazing mean? I’m leaning to a balancing issue or maybe I did something improperly when putting wheel bearings back.
I can’t imagine the CV itself is the issue since when I’m doing 55+ it vibrates lightly. When doing 40 I dropped it into 2nd gear to see if it was RPM...
So I haven’t been driving the 100 for a few weeks because the LBJ was squeaking so badly it made me not even want to drive the truck.
I figured since I had the knuckle off to get to the LBJ I might aswell do the CV axle.
Everything went smoothly and got it all back together. Drive it around...
Started getting a weird creak/squeak from the driver side front end. I have replaced bushings on sway bar a year or 2 ago. Just changed the TRE and inner tie rods, and the shocks don’t seem to be the culprit. I’m thinking it’s the cv since my boot is f***ed , I had my wife turn it back and forth...
Definitely will be grinding mine in the same way! It did hit the shield at first but I found if you get it in proper position it won’t touch it. Thanks!
Can you take a pic of the type of lug nuts on these ? I bought a set online but they came without lug nuts or valve stems. Trying to figure out which ones will work. The lug nuts from my old tundra wheels don’t seem like they’re the right style.
Or if anyone has a PN for these items I’m looking...
Thanks for all the help everyone! After finishing this job , if I was to give any advice to someone else doing it. It would be to pick up one of these tie rod separator tools. I found that most of the others in my toolbox didn’t fit very well around the TRE. This one has a swivel where the screw...
Why would that cause the clock spring to break? From the videos I’ve watched you need to turn the wheel back and forth during this to get the boots installed. I also turned it back and forth when removing them to get a better grip on the part with the lock nut.

Would there be any way to replicate the leak? I’m a bit confused. I’ve never ever had to top off the brake fluid. 4 years of ownership.
I’m wondering if maybe the fluid in the boot was just a mix of grease from tie rod itself and water from the boot being ripped? Today...
