Just talked to the other shop and he’s quoting me 2600 for the hoses, the ac, the power steering all for $2600 ... tbh I’m surprised this is a really good price.
Thanks for thatbjust called back one of the shops and they said it’s 3100 installed with labor.. water pump is brand new and everything else is replaced for the main part .. I’d probably just have to get an ac pump but that’s about it
Hey all just found a shop that would rebuild my 3FE engine for $2300. And another that would do it for $2100. Wondering what everyone has to say about this?
I’m located in LA
What shops did you go to , to rebuild your 3FE and price?
No a shop is doing it but I would love to learn how , hell I’d even go as far as to buy a engine lifter and start learning now so I can start doing other cars..
But I also understand it’s not something to take lightly as many things can happen ..
Yeah that’s be my next buy when I find it at a good price!
But for now I’m going to work on the 3FE..
just using what I have and eventually it’ll fall into my sons hands so
Basically it’s going to stay in the family for a while...
And tbh I’m comfortable with having a timing belt as opposed...
@BILT4ME @mjosoba @White Stripe @DiscoCam
Yes I’ve came down from my high horse and accepted and will be content with a new 3FE engine ...
I’ve seen a couple of prices online but I’m wondering if anyone can direct me to a great website or company that could help me out as far as brand new...
Yeah your right boss
Not going to lie it’s the best decision but I’m actually just going to drop an engine in it just not sure if it will be 3FE or not..
I have a rod knock and was preparing for a new engine...
I was wondering what’s the best route to take if I have around 7 grand to work with ? Parts and labor included.
Currently running a 3FE gas engine .
I would like more power and looked at a LS engine but not sure if budget would cut it.
Yeah any good mechanic knows it take time and patience no matter how good you are ! These steps will put you thru a professional thought process to finding the solution with the cruiser!
Thank you all for the help!!! Found the problem, but the key information is here is to learn to take these steps and diagnose the entire car as @jonheld has stated.. it’ll help you make sure your not just throwing parts at the vehicle..
Well the solution to my problem was the fuel pump...
