Fair enough. I was thinking also of recreating the functions with an arduino nano and 12v relay to simulate. Then, stuff it all in the OEM housing with the standard connector for a plug and play option.
If I ever get around to it I'll post it here.
Cheers!
For 1988-1990, at the bottom of page 12-39 in the Haynes 92056 1980-1996, FJ60, 62, 80, FZJ80 book, you will find the diagram for the cooling fan circuit. For 1980-1987 it's on page 12-22.
I'll try and get some pics and post 'em.
Sure sounds like the fan relay going nuts. Run it again and try disconnecting the therm resistor/temp sensor and see if it stops the clicking. Was the fan never working before this? Maybe remove the relay and clean the contacts also, for good measure.
Sorry for the delay. I had to step away for a bit. ;o)
Still working it. What I did last was removed and bench tested the throttle body. It was very difficult to dial in so I replaced with another I got from @orange45 that I was able to calibrate. I fixed the hesitation issue strangely. With my...
I put in the 60w, 4x6 LX-Lights from Amazon and they plugged right in. Everything works great and they take way less amp and avoid burning up the common ground behind the inst cluster Ive seen halogens do so often. Thats where all the gremlins have come from that I have seen.
I was planning to map it all first and then build the schematic much like @Coolerman has done with his previous stuff. From there I was considering building new or other options but the jury is still out on that.
As for the MAF, I tested a few old one and found a few good and one bad so I've...
@Engineer8000 Hello sir. Got a note from @orangefj45 that you were working on a some cool electrical stuff. I have been just starting the same type of work and thought it would be great to sync up perhaps and I could learn form your experiences. I've been testing some old MAFs for him and few...
ok, it's got a new TPS, fuel dampener, fuel regulator, fuel filter, fuel system flush, MAF sensor. I cleaned the injectors myself so highly suspecting those. Curious though that it runs fine around town, even if you step on it but then struggles at 2500'.
I'll try some more of what you guys...
Took the 62 up HWY 88 and made it 1/2 to Soda Springs, CA (~2500’) before we had to turn back due to lack of power and it began to sputter under load. I suspect a few things.
Possible bad TPS still (connector needs replacing)
MAF still not working correctly (doubting because its fine in other...
Sure are a lot of wires just for a ignition disable. Hard to say without being there to trace but with all those black wires, I am curious if they used the common ground. See if you can trace that one large black wire and let us know where it goes. I'm not familiar with THAT particle set up so...
You do not need a fuse to cover the entirety of the fuse block unless you intend to have everything ON, head lights, brake lights, tail lights, heater blower, radio, AMP, dash lights, turn signals, etc, when you fire it up. I run a 30a fusible link from Oreilly's and it works fine. You have a...
As I am getting back into my love of FJs I was just curious about where my old 1967 FJ40 ended up. Sold her in 2004 when my kids were born from Discovery Bay CA but can't find any records. I am notorious for clean slate when I get urge. Anyone here familiar? Her's an old picture with her parked...
