Hi folks, has anybody seen a 3B leak coolant externally through the galleries beside the exhaust ports? Looking with a light it appears there may be a tube or such as a coolant passage through the head. I blew compressed air in the hole and water blew out the radiator so it's definitely corroded...
Hey mate, thanks for the reply re DOT approval. I've been out at work so haven't had a chance to reply. Yours is looking good, so close you can almost hear the turbo whistling in the soft sand!
Haha very funny...sounds like a typical father/son in law relationship. Hope it all goes back together well for you. You've done an amazing job thus far
Have you used an engineer up this way for anything? I'm at CooIum. I need to get a mount for a rear seat frame certified so I can get it mod plated, then I can throw the kids seats in my 40 and head to DI with the family.
I just read your list...and you think you'll get the jet ski in the water? You must work different to me. I finish one job then spend 20 mins standing back admiring a job well done. I'd need 2 weeks to get through all that, not 2 days haha. Will be good to see a pic of the ski behind the 40.
Great Build! If you ever need someone to polish and put fuel in the 40, just let me know, I'm only down the road! I'd also take it for a lap just to make sure the battery stayed charged. Will hopefully see you cruising up Teewah someday. We nearly had another Cherry Venture to play on hey
budget's are meant to be broken. I'd sell it for $1000. It is only a rolling chassis, not a complete vehicle. Not sure if it would be worth your while but I imagine shipping costs etc may add up quickly.
mine was the flasher unit, just replaced it with a $10 unit from the local auto supply shop and all is good now, they just blink a little slower than with the OEM unit.
Maybe Mainer7's problem is in the actual stalk on the steering column. Poor contact there maybe causing a low voltage at the...
I've got a similar problem right now with my FJ45, but happens with LH and RH indicators and Hazard switch. Could hear my flasher unit buzzing which is mounted inside on the firewall between the go pedal and the brake pedal. I've pulled it apart and found the buzzing is one of the switches not...
nah the bar was stuffed, the bottom was rusted right through and the side hoops ran straight through the middle of the headlights, plus it weighed an absolute tonne, felt like I had power steering after I took it off, seriously made a HUGE difference. I'll just cut keep cutting it down until...
Quite a while ago I cut down the monsterous bar that was on the front of this. I couldn't decide whether I liked it or not, so have never bothered finishing it. I think I will keep cutting and just leave the bottom section only, like a bumper and then mount lights either side of the winch. I...
Thanks Uted, I've seen yours around on the forums a bit and always thought they looked a similar colour. The colour of mine is called "Rocket Fuel"...haha I love it.
yeah pretty sure we're gonna be drilling for hot rocks, then water is pushed through and out another hole as steam. A town out here in the middle of the desert was about to go online with this setup as a trial, but they got about a week away from flicking the switch and the casing burst, had a...
haha seems to be a lot of truth to this, there is even dedicated shops to restore them over there. I can't believe the vendors of Toyota parts that is available to you guys too. I was just looking on ebay international and on here at the repro parts, like gear knobs, shift pattern plates...
yeah, how come I couldnt find any as original and clean as this when I was looking for one over here, and especially with the styleside tray on it...seems like all ours are hacks compared to a lot of the ones you guys get in the states
yeah you're right mate, it is a 10/77 model. Thanks for the info, I was pretty sure thats what I had discovered.
I have the disc brakes parts from grumpy above in those older posts, but I've not got around to fitting them yet. He also gave me a couple of different master cylinders from various...
