For Sale 1990 Toyota Land Cruiser FJ 75 Troopy 4X4 (not mine)

most LHD trucks with fresh paint tend to just be absolute beaters that are bought and sold for a quick flip. These trucks get used and abused in the countries that they're sold in

I think I saw that too. The Montana thing is probably not the most ideal move anymore. Best to find some family or friends else wear haha

    Wanted 90s 77 or 78 Series | California

As far as I can tell from reading the original post this truck was registered in CA then attempted to be sold to another owner in CA when the DMV voided the plates. You can see the old plates in the photo as well

    Wanted 90s 77 or 78 Series | California

they've been saying this for years. it really only applies to extremely expensive cars or RVs. Your average van or hilux isn't going to peak their interest.

    Wanted 90s 77 or 78 Series | California

Just wanted to add this. Don’t overpay for CA plates. They can and will void the title during the transfer for diesels. Another confirmed case

For Sale Los Angeles CA, HZJ77

apart from the price thing, the CA registration transfer is a big point people seem to often forget. Never guaranteed. Cool truck though and an awesome plate number haha

    Wanted 90s 77 or 78 Series | California

just a heads up, the last 70 series with actual CA plates that I saw was listed for over 70k. Getting them to CA compliance seems like a wild goose chase as far as where/who/how much. You basically just have to get lucky at the DMV, not to mention they could crack down and start revoking plates...

California Title and Registration of Diesels

Are you the guy who ran the taco surf account a few years back? Cool stuff. As for the van, you could go the Montana/south Dakota route and it would probably be fine, but there's always a chance it could get popped at some point. Really uncommon, as they're mainly looking for people buying...

HDJ81 (that seem to have fj80 VIN) register in California

Basically all loopholes have been closed, there'd a pretty lengthy thread discussing CA import registration on here and the general consensus is that right now the chances of slipping through are extremely low if not impossible. Best to look for other means of registration.

California Title and Registration of Diesels

Pretty much, and that shop in Santa Ana won't even do diesels anymore according to the DMV site. California: stay for the Beaches and Mountains, leave because literally everything else

California Title and Registration of Diesels

If it was that easy, this thread wouldn't exist and we'd all be circling around singing kum ba ya with Gavin Newsom
