1995 hzj75
Last time I installed new wheel bearings I also changed the top and lower swivel hub bearings but did not change the shim..
And I did NOT test the swivel "turning" preload
So now after 10.000km I wanted to check and it was way too loose.. only about 1.5kg resistance.
And there was...
I just pulled the front differential on my 1995 hzj75 as I have a leaking seal.
But now I see these little flakes on some of the edges of the ring gear and pinion gear....
There is also some very fine metal shavings stuck on some parts and there were fine metal dust on drain plug magnet...
I just pulled the axle as I need to change the diff seal.
I can feel a slight difference in resistance when moving the swivel hub from center position. Definitely feels like a worn bearing. But I did full swivel hub rebuild only 10.000km ago.
I did however not set a high enough bearing preload...
I am having a leak in my front differential and I am wondering if it due to too much resistance in the diff breather. I have installeret a original diff breather but I was surprised to feel quite a bit of resistance before I felt the little diff breather "open up" (blowing air into the tube like...
Homemade tow point at the rear of the HZJ
I am thinking about making a rear recovery point on my 1995 HZJ so that I can be pulled free when I get stuck. So it must be strong!!!
I have removed the towbar so I was wondering if I could bolt an eye to the middle of the chassis frame where the...
Mmmh there might be something about it. You are not the only one suggesting to extent the bracket.
I guess I will go back to the drawing board and make a few changes.
Hi
So I am designing a couple of rear recovery points for my HZJ75.
I am planning to cut a piece of 15mm stell with a oval hole for the shackle but there will still be 20mm of material around the hole.
the cut plate will be mounted with 2 8mm bolts through the frame + 2 bolts to the bracket for...
Just wanted to share a quick update. I got a sway bar kit from Old Man EMU for the first 79 series.
It fits perfectly and a direct bolt on!
Also I does make a difference when cornering.
I just received a pair of Roadsafe tow points for the 75 series.
They do not fir since the parabolic leaf springs are apparently a bit longer than the oem springs..
This video is my description of my little issue.
This video shows the nut getting very close to the tow point. And that is just...
After adding a camper on my 75 series I really want a rear sway bar. Unfortunately none was ever made for the 75 series so I am hoping one from the 79 series can be adapted.
Have anyone done this or had the idea? Is it even possible?
So can someone measure the following (please see attached...
thank you for the part numbers. I am sure I will be able to find these at some point.
Is there anyone who is able to take some pictures of their own 79series on how the bar is mounted on both the axle and on the frame.. the more pictures the better.
also I need some measuments on there the...
