Code 22 trouble looking for help

One more thing I figured I could add is that the CEL doesn't go away under any circumstance, and it is immediate, meaning the ECU, or the engine system hasn't actually taken any feedback about how the engine is running. The ECU thinks the system is faulty during Boot Up.

Code 22 trouble looking for help

Hey fellow udders, I have an 88 fj62. I've been running through a series of issues and fixing them as I move along. Initially I had an issue with my vehicle not heating up (on the guage) and the heater did not work either. I assumed it was the thermostat. So I just did a drop in and button up...

Need some help with my throttle body

Hopefully this is the issue. Problem here for me is the part is like $500. If you haven't tested your vacuum lines yet, I would advise you look at making an engine smoke tool. Super simple and not too expensive to do vs buying one. I followed this guys directions more or less. I used JB Quick...

Need some help with my throttle body

I've diagnosed my issue. Took apart my idle speed control valve and ran the test per fsm. Mine does not move. I feel the same way. This has been driving me crazy for a while. It's always the last place you look. *sighs*

    High idle, 88 fj62 help

Question for you. I noticed you talk about the IAC in your post. Is this the idle air control. I can't find that in my manual. Are you talking about the idle speed control? It shows that as the piece that's right in front of the throttle body in my manual

    High idle, 88 fj62 help

Checked throttle cable and I made a motor smoker and sent the smoke through the lines to determine if they were leaking. There was a leak at the egr valve. I replaced it but there was no change in the idle.

    High idle, 88 fj62 help

Hey everyone. If you saw my last posts I was struggling with high idle and multiple codes being thrown. I fixed all my codes and checked my vacuum lines, however I am still idling very high. In neutral I am sitting at about 1500 rpm. Not sure where to start. Was thinking a tune up might do the...

Need some help with my throttle body

Thank you for your help Rgill. Took your suggestion but did it a little differently. Figured out how to make a home made smoke tester and blew the smoke into the lines. The problem ended up being the EGR modulator valve. Found one that claims it doesn't fit at autozone (it does and is literally...

    FSM Help

Hey there cruisers, does any one have a copy of the FSMs for an Fj62. I have an 88 and have a fsm but as I was going through it it appears incomplete. Was wondering if someone could help me out.

The 4.1 also makes me question the sensor again now that I re-read it
