Oil change intervals with synthetic oil?

I typically have it changed at 5k, after the light comes on my dash. I acknowledge that it is unncessary, but I don't mind the expense and it allows me to rotate tires and have another set of eyes that I trust look everything over (including other fluids) a couple of times per year. What...

PSA for non-mechanics like me re: wheel flange and transmission

Over the past few days I have experienced great fear and relief on my 100. Sunday night when pulling out of a parking lot, I lost power and it sounded like I was dragging a giant metal anchor underneath me. It almost felt like I was high centered for a moment, but I was able to get into...

    Another TPMS thread (sorry) . . .

Problem resolved for now, but I am not entirely sure how . . . After driving around after the dash reset the light disappeared. Thanks to the advice above I used a different techstream program and was able to connect to the TPMS (and AHC diagnostics). TPMS seems to be showing 5 sensors, so...

    Another TPMS thread (sorry) . . .

I did check the spare, but according to the '06 manual (p. 149) there is no sensor in the spare.

    Static TPMS light

Owner's manual in '06 says there is no TPMS in the spare.

    Another TPMS thread (sorry) . . .

TPMS light is on. All of my tires are inflated to proper pressure. My sensors are all less than 2 years old, as I replaced as precautionary measure when I did a wheel/ tire swap. Techstream won't connect to the TPMS computer, instead it gives me an error message. So, I can't determine if...

From Hundy to 2024 LC 250?

I believe sales will depend a significant amount on what the next 4Runner looks like/ can do.

From Hundy to 2024 LC 250?

An ideal world definitely has the LC300 and the 250 available in the U.S. Unfortunately, we don’t live in that world.

From Hundy to 2024 LC 250?

Understood, that is why I said the overall cost of future operation would be significantly less with a 100 (primarily because we are all starting from $0 buy-in on the 100 in this analysis for startup cost, having it sunk already. If someone was choosing whether to buy a 100 vs. a new 250 a...

From Hundy to 2024 LC 250?

But it won't be the "same gas," it will be roughly 1/2 the fuel cost at the proposed MPG. I agree the cost of operation of a maintained 100 (including insurance and local property taxes) will be significantly less than a new 250. But, the fuel cost will be roughly 50%.

From Hundy to 2024 LC 250?

I'm a former 80 and current 100 lover, and I am very intrigued. I don't plan on letting go of my 100, but the 250 might replace the 51% shareholder's Sequoia once she's ready to commit to downsizing. Or, might become my DD. The gas mileage is intriguing, and would allow me to build my 100...

    2002 Tundra - ODB reader won’t connect

OK, now that I have my fuse fixed, I am getting CEL and Code P0141 #10, O2 sensor heater, Circuit Bank 1, Sensor 2. I've replaced 02 sensors before, but I am running into some trouble making sure I identify the correct sensor (part #) and location. Anyone willing to help a doofus here? 2002...

    2002 Tundra - ODB reader won’t connect

I have a CEL that I believe to be a recurring O2 sensor. When I try to clear it, the ODB reader won’t connect. It reads like it is processing for 30 seconds or so, then stalls and tells me it cannot connect to the vehicle. I’ve tried with vehicle “on” and with engine running. I’ve used this...

Complete ATF loss going up a hill after ATF line rupture. Potential damage to transmission? 2003 UZJ100

the line to the radiator on our 2003 failed and spilled red fluid all over the road. I probably drove a half mile during the process not realizing I was losing ATF fluid and it was not shifting properly. Coincidentally, the alternator failed within 2 months after that incident. But...

Long time tinkerer - first time 100 owner (LX470) - excited to be here.

Not sure about fuses, but steering wheel position toggle is a common problem with a motor in the steering column wearing out. They were defaulted from factory to automatically move each time the key was inserted as a luxury feature and that created a constant wear item. It is a pretty simple...
