While I was doing my timing belt job. I accidentally took one bolt of the oil pump off. And I found it after a few steps. You can tell the position of the water pump bolt and the oil pump bolt are very close. I was able to reinstall the oil pump bolt based on FSM torque specs.

My LX has been having the same symptoms since a few months ago. The sound and feel to me were likes a brake caliper pulling the pad away from the rotor not in a smooth manner. I also notice my body tends to lean forward more once come to a full stop no matter how slow I press the brake pedal.
I would confirm the necessity to replace the steering rack first. Check the fluid level of the power steering fluid. And see how quick you are losing fluid, and how much. AT205 would be my 1st approach if fluid lose is really slow.
Update after 10,000 miles. The reclamped CVs are still dry without any sign of leaking. The power steering fluid is right above the low level in the reservoir, I did add a couple of times AT 205 to the cold high level before long trips. The power steering boot is not any wetter than 10,000 miles...
