Good thread. Same question I've been wondering about. Looks like the "try using the search button" crowd have finally left one alone and let people who want to actually answer a question do it. See how easy it is to just not respond if you think the subject has been covered enough, and let...
Thanks for the input. I'm getting the picture. I think I'll go for some old fashioned gas guzzling power. i drive "the Mistress" (wife calls her that) with respect, usually.
I've got a 76fj with a very tired and 43 year old chevy 283, otherwise it's a stock drivetrain. I'm going to put in a new motor. The search function revealed a few people arguing for a lot of hp, up to 400 hp. My question is just how much hp/torque can the STOCK drive train handle? I'm...
Same thing happened to me on my sbc. After serious trouble shooting including getting the starter rebuilt (with new solenoid), it ended up being the ground from the battery to the frame having corrosion/gunk building up at the frame. I cleaned up the frame and ground, reconnected it, and all...

I went to either Lowes or Home Depot for keys for both my 40s. I'm sure either would work. The keys are a bit longer than the original but work great. They just stick out of the key slot a little more than ususal. It is a standard Toyota key blank, at least it is for my 76 and 77.
To those who answered my questions, thanks. i guess i cant figur the surch funkshun and will be stuk in irak, again....duh.... I tried that. Lot of hits, no specifics. Thanks for the info Poser, and the advice, Mark.
