I've just started hearing the same thing in my HJ60 over the past week or so. Only in 3rd gear when decelerating. It's well over 350,000 Ks so probably getting a bit worn. Seems to be more noticeable when it's cold. I might squirt an additive in there and see what happens.
Like Tapage said, treat her with a little respect and she'll go for years. I run my 2H at 10lb boost all day. When it starts getting warm, I ease back a little... easy
Thanks guys, you were right. I swapped out the old diaphragm tonight and she's running a whole lot better and idling back at 550rpm. What a s*** of a job! I'm in my 50s now and not particularly agile any more - not to mention my failing eyesight  That tiny little split pin was a challenge...
Hi Folks, It's been a while since I last posted on here. My trusty old Cruiser has mysteriously started idling a little higher than usual. It will normally idle around 500rpm, but over the last couple of weeks has started idling around 650-700rpm. It doesn't change - just constantly a little...
Yea, I thought of that. The old fitting was only screwed in with a bit of thread seal tape and not seated against anything. With the new fitting, I have seated it against a fiber washer and tightened it up to seal. This should hopefully provide a bit more support. The old one lasted almost 6...
Sorted  Turns out a little brass fitting I installed to re-direct oil for the turbo got a crack in it. New fitting, and about an hours work has the problem fixed
Yea, I'm gonna have to get right up under with my mirror and a good light and have a decent look. Bloody annoying! The old girl never lets me down normally.
Hey guys, it's been a while. My trusty old cruiser has just developed an annoying oil leak from around the starter area. It could be one of the oil light or cut-out trigger switches but I can't see in there without dropping the starter out. I have noticed the oil level dropping over the last few...
I'm currently running Valvoline 15-40 Diesel oil in mine. Seems fine so far with good oil pressure, hot or cold. It's winter in NZ at the moment. Temps range -5 to around 15 deg C and plenty of rain. No problems with cold starts on standard "quick glow" system.
Hey guys, long time no read :D
I used the CT26 because it was available at the right price and someone had painted "12HT" on the waste gate. I figured at the time that it would be a fairly good match to my 2H. I knew very little about the compressor ratios etc. I guess it was a bit of a gamble...
