    hub won't seat on stub axle

    Can you slide both bearings into place on the spindle without them being in the hub? This would tell you if the inside surface of the bearing is catching on the spindle. If it's not that it almost has to be that one of races is not seated properly or you have a defective/wrong race/bearing/seal.

    Looks like the fan shroud has been glued back together. There is also some rusty hardware on the interior - kinda strange. I've seen quite a few for sale from these guys and they always seem to be low mileage and expensive but most of them have had some weird stuff going on. I would be careful.

    You could check and see if you are actually hitting the bumpstops. Put a dab of grease on the bumpstop, go drive, then check and see if you have it on the axle housing when you get back.
