Well since you asked. I think building your own ebike will be a huge waste of your money. Because you will really like ebiking and you will have a junkey home made ebike. You will then go to the cheep China made ebike store and buy a better but still cheep and budgety ebike. It will work fine...
I have an air/water system. It works great all the time. Or at least it worked all the time till my $50 pump failed. That being the down side of air to water. You have a pump that must run all the time for it to work. The reason I chose air /water over air/air it was the simplest to mount and...
Im still leaning towards the brakes steaming and making the smell. This is assuming you are not clutching while driving through the rough spots. On my unlifted lj78 the water would have to be up to the floor boards before the clutch would start getting wet. You may have dropped a brake lining...
Also, defective tires will cause a death wobble. My wife had the same troubles with her 3/4 ton Ram a couple months after installing new Cooper tires. Tried all the same steps as you and ended up getting another brand of tires. Problem solved.
If you haven't already done so I would take it to a different shop to have the alignment and castor checked. The original installers might be covering there butts or just trying to sell you more parts.
About the the Alaska trip. Sundowner originally brought up the idea last July or August. He was interested in forming a group to caravan up to Prudhoe bay. I said heck yea lets go. A few other people chimed in with some scheduling and route ideas then nothing till now. Im still primed to go. I...
Usually the throwout bearing will make noise when the clutch pedal is depressed. Yours sounds louder with your foot off the pedal. That noise might be coming from your trans input shaft bearing. Either way yes needs some attention.
The wheels were on the Cruiser when I bought it. The hub caps are what really makes the look. Most of freshly imported Prados have them. I am thinking of of switching them out for something lighter. The Nomads look
Nice. As for the tent, I found it on Amazon. $1500 + free shipping. It weighs...
Finished up the brake job on my Lj78 with some rear caliper seal kits. I hope they work out. The seal kits were only $25 per side vs. $160 ea for new calipers.
My wife does not have the brake bleed gene
I had to invent a way to pressurize the brakes so I could bleed them myself. The bike tube thing actually worked.
Ok looks like doing both sides takes about 20oz. I had 5 4oz tubes and still have bit left over. I used regular wheel bearing grease to pack the new wheel bearings. That was quite the job. Im glad I only have to do it once every ten years.
Hi everyone
I am servicing the front axles and brakes on my LJ78. Does anyone know how many OZs of grease each cv joint would need for a complete repack.
Thanks
