I use a hood mount for my antenna and ran it through an unused opening below my master cylinder. I use the IC-7300, I use it with Tall Corn and Black Hills events on my 01 LX470. Use the center counsel to remote mount the unit.

My question is what is the ideal placement of the sliders? On these 2 mock-up pictures the inner part of the rail is just outside of the pinchweld, and about 1/2” below.

I like the Comet antennas. They “fold” instead of bending/breaking. They also have a spring that can be added if your worried about the trail obstacles.
