Installing a charcoal canister into my de-smogged 2f. It seems straight forward but I am trying to figure out where this fitting goes to? I think it should go to a hard line that goes into the engine bay. But I can’t find it. Does the hard line run under the tank? First picture is of the fitting...
Two questions:
1. Is the bottom port for the vader light?
2. What are the top pieces for? Looks like something would attach from the outside of each of those.
Found this on craigslist. Going to try and see it this week. I am interested in the hardtop and seats. If anyone else is looking for parts let me know and I will see what it has. He wants to sell it complete and I dont have room for it. Let me know if you have any interest.

Looks like it’s time for a new alternator. Seems like I currently have an internally regulated one on since I don’t see one on the drivers side. The majority of the alternators I have seen have the three male plugs but mine only has two. What alternator should I get?
Also the vehicle is a 74 but...
My assumption on this is that the PO just threw it on and there isn’t an actual reason but I figured I would ask the group. Andy reason for both of those? Am I okay to pull the rancho one? Power steering was added so don’t know if that’s a factor.
I just replaced my temp sending unit to try and get it to read on my gauge. I have a 74 but the engine is from a later year (not sure what year yet still scrubbing that plate on the engine). Should I be using the longer temp sensor or is the one pictured the right one?
There are also two wires...
Calling this thread bad memory not as a nod to the gas mileage I got towing this thing home but more so as a tribute to to my terrible ability to remember what I have done. So. I will take a lot of pictures and post them there so I can look back and remember when I did something.
Plus I will...
Have an exhaust leak and am pretty sure of the culprit. Can anyone confirm that the gap where the manifold meets the exhaust pipe should not be there?

Basically what the title says. I replaced the o-ring, reassembled everything, try to start it and it just turns. Every once in a while it acts like it is about to catch but then just keeps turning. Have tried to adjust the timing a bit but no luck. Any advice is greatly appreciated.
Hi all! I just found this group and decided to say a quick hello. Anyone else from the Cleveland area? I just purchased a lovely 1993 FZJ80 and am in the process of base-lining it off all the information I have been reading here.
I took off my side steps and they are just taking up room. If anyone had an extra steering column cover I would trade for that but quite honestly just come get them if you want them.
