    Australian-style Off-Road Radio Antennas (GMRS & CB & Ham)

We are trying to deplete most remaining inventory at Cruise Moab this week. We will begin build immediately next week.

Bit of unfortunate drama. I'm not happy with the aluminum and possible galvanic corrosion. We have reverted to a thermoplastic/UV resistant design. I'm sorry I don't have an immediate date for you. Working on the release of another antenna accessory which may release immediate before.

So I think the Michelin Defender is the perfect all-terrain tire... (For most of us)

275/70r18 is a super common size, I'd be surprised if they didn't eventually produce that. As for the 285, I would guess it'd be a 295/70r18.

Just use that price as a negotiation elsewhere. Costco is so urban traffic.

Thank you! We are going to start selling some soon. Those and a number of other comms accoutrements, and waiting on some suppliers.

So I think the Michelin Defender is the perfect all-terrain tire... (For most of us)

There is not a tire made and on the market today that would overdue it under our Cruisers (without going overboard and doing body cuttings). The max we'll find is an 85% which is in a distinctly sweet spot for overland and off-highway travel. I run 255 width on my 100 and could not be happier...

So I think the Michelin Defender is the perfect all-terrain tire... (For most of us)

Actually, 16" should be 💯 fine for a Cruiser and heat dissipation. Mercedes 3500 Sprinter at 10k gvwr and 7500 lbs tow rating has factory 16" wheels and brakes still I don't know. I thought it was the low OE tire pressure rating for the heavier vehicle that Ford rated to improve ride. 🤷🏼‍♂️

So I think the Michelin Defender is the perfect all-terrain tire... (For most of us)

I'm not missing your point either, I promise. Why Toyota chose 275 and 285 is maybe a bit of aesthetic. For years the 80 and 100s had different widths depending on the market. I actually think 275 is a good proper width for a Cruiser. For me it isn't about questioning the actual width...

So I think the Michelin Defender is the perfect all-terrain tire... (For most of us)

Correct, 18" in 2021 (IIRC). That said for YEARS 13" was rule. It is also said that 18" was pressed more by aesthetics. But as for the brake thing, since at least 2009 KERS and MGUK (regenerative braking) so braking (which inboard brakes are not allowed) is significantly increased over the...

So I think the Michelin Defender is the perfect all-terrain tire... (For most of us)

We know that big aspect works off-road, but how about on street and roads, that is my counter. An F1 tire with 13" wheels that are over 70% aspect. High aspect tires on WRC: It is about the ratio of the sidewall to the width that matters, though. The dynamics and ergonomics of the tire...

So I think the Michelin Defender is the perfect all-terrain tire... (For most of us)

Opinionated but educated reply inbound: Skinnier is better. Full Stop. Better handling, better air spring, better off-highway. Even Formula 1 engg will argue tall sidewalls are better on the pavement too :-) Skinnier ⟹ higher aspect ratio. Of course there is a logical limit, but the aspect...

    Australian-style Off-Road Radio Antennas (GMRS & CB & Ham)

We have a good contact in the broader off-road community who had designed and made them for us. For completely extraneous reasons, looks like they may not be able to deliver on more of them, and I am seeking a new provider for these, being very transparent there :-) Looking both at aluminum...

    source for engine block heaters?

For this specifically, stock 3F-E. I'm debating on two (2) of them or 1. I'm in a cold place, but maybe not that cold. A PO on an old 2F of mine did headers and I cursed it. Partly because of this, as there is a reason that exhaust manifold mated to the intake manifold. :-)

    source for engine block heaters?

Anyone here run two block heaters on a 2F or 3F? 4and if so which freeze plugs were used? And, for those looking to confirm this in the future, is the Kat 11465 the correct block heater for the 2F/3F blocks?

    3fe freeze/expansion plug recommendations?

First, how did you retail that freeze plug? I've always screwed a small machine screw in so that I could recover that freeze plug after I punched it into the block. How did you install that block heater?

    Australian-style Off-Road Radio Antennas (GMRS & CB & Ham)

We've had the opportunity to be running this tall, open-range, high-gain antenna for a while now, having tested it since about April 2023. I need to take some video, but it sways and oscillates LESS than the smaller antennas. Pretty remarkable.

I don't have KO3s, but I do have KO2s. I have respect, unlike most, for BFGAT. LTXMS is: Is much quieter, Longer treadlife, Subjectively better in packed snow; subjectively worse in deep snow. Objectively better in sand, Objectively worse in mud. Look lame as hell. Need big cojones to run...

How to install that body strip of molding under the rear pivot window?

How to install that body strip of molding under the rear pivot window?

There is a strip molding (I don't know the correct word) that snaps into the body under the rear side window. I need to install this, but I can't figure out a way to get under or aside the window in order get this in. If I install the clips into the molding, there is not enough room to get...
