I do remember PayPal-ing money to the "diditrain@gmail dot com" email address and hoping for the best, but he came through and shipped my adapter right away. But that was 2-3 years ago. I'm not sure if he's still on the forum, and I don't recall his username. If you search this thread...
Here's a little Saginaw power steering pump cheat sheet that I've always referenced, to find the right pump. When I V8 swapped my '59 Apache, I ultimately had to buy two pumps to disassemble and build the pump that suited my needs (the right combination of pressure line inlet, mounting bolt...
I think that you may be over thinking it just a tad. It's simply a Saginaw pump. There are a few iterations/differences between them. The shaft is either a keyed fit or tapered fit, a couple of options for mounting holes, and two options for the high pressure line fitting (SAE or metric). Far...
Agreed. I've backed most of my rigs up the staircase. Trail is a 4, IMO. It's an amazingly fun trail! I try to avoid it Friday-Sunday, as traffic can be a nightmare. The Pink Jeep drivers CAN be entitled jerks! If you take the time to talk to them a bit, most are decent folks. Some just...
Former commercial/instrument rated pilot. Was pursuing a flight career, went to Embry Riddle, then realized that I apparently don't value money (🤪) and became a fireman/paramedic, because well, I guess that I value being undervalued.
I soloed on my 16th birthday and drove a fuel truck around...
Pretty sure that I would break Suzuki parts! The transmission and divorced transfer case that I would run would be significantly longer than Samurai parts. I was hard pressed to have equal length driveshafts in my '01 Super Duty! But, it did. Was great, actually! I had three driveline made...
That's where I'm at. I own multiple SBC's. That would be a very quick and easy swap, but its not exciting at all. I'm gonna do it. Going to start the "wire diet", to thin the electrical out. Axle's are super easy, I am not worried about diff placement. I may end up with D60's, I've got a...
Yeah. I MAY do that. I've already done an LS swap in one of old hot rods. Kinda want to do something different. Looks like there's a pretty straight forward "wire diet" for the factory harness, that retains the OBD2 port for diagnostic purposes and the O2 sensors. PLUS, I want to run the T-5...
An SM-465 would probably be an easy swap, though the NV4500 would be ideal! The Novak Guide to the GM Muncie SM465 Transmission - https://www.novak-adapt.com/knowledge/transmissions/manual/sm465/
Small block Chevy: 26 inches wide, 28 inches long, and 27 inches tall
Ford Modular 4.6: width 25.6" SOHC, 30" DOHC, height 26" SOHC/28" DOHC. Length 28".
The '01-'06 variety of this engine is a single camshaft engine, from the short bit of googlizing that I just did. Lots of SBC's going...
My rig:
Donor car (sorry for bad picture):
Pulled everything back. Only a cam position sensor was hurt in the accident. It's at mechanic friends house. He replaced sensor, pulled other stuff back and verified that the engine is good to go.
