It's been well maintained.

I am interested in selling my FJ40.
I will attempt to attach some photos.
The whole back floor area has been replaced and all repainted in a Toyota green color. It has the original engine, overhauled by the last owner.
It also has a lunchbox locker in the rear.
I will take the best offer over...
Hello
I'm an FJ40 owner in Boerne.
I may have a new job that would have me here and in Colorado, near Ft. Collins. I would need a basic model, with Automatic for my wife, to keep up there.
I'll make occasional trips into the hills, but mainly it's for getting around town. It needs to be reliable...
Hey gang,
My 40 has become my local daily driver, but I really need something with a bit more utility, like a 60 or 62, but it's gotta be really nice.
I've put a lot into this one.
All new suspension,
new steel in the back.
It has a good 2F with the stock 4 speed.
Lunchbox locker in the rear...
I'd be interested in a trade for a very nice FJ60, maybe a 62.
2F with stock 4 speed.
lunchbox locker in rear.
All new suspension from manafre.
I'm located near San Antonio, TX
I figure my rig is worth about 10K
See photos, I can email more.

hello
This is my daily driver, but it doesn't suit my needs anymore, need a truck.
I replaced the whole suspension including leafs with a Manafre 3" lift kit.
The stock engine runs great, so I didn't do anything to it, except a new radiator, water pump. It's all de-smogged. It has headers and a...
Hello,
I can't find any discussion of putting a toyota 4 cylinder gas engine in a 40--is this not even worth considering?
My 40 is a daily driver and 98% on pavement. It'd be nice to have better mileage, also my 2F is getting tired.
My aching back! I'm a bit older now and my back is suffering.
My 1975 FJ40 is now my daily driver. My seats need some sort of
shock absorbing feature in the frame or seat.
Help!
That or buy my 40 from me!!
thanks
jim

These ideas are appreciated, but I don't know much about fusible links and diodes and where they are. The problem existed before I put in the new switch and I have not replaced the alternator.
Is there a good source for info on these parts?
thanks,
jim
Help!
Recently, my engine won't shut off when I turn off the key. I've put in a new ignition key switch, no change. It runs fine and the idle is good. Once I get it shutdown, all's fine, no discharging shown on ampmeter.
The only problem I've had lately is with poor grounding on the horn and...
For anyone searching for an fj40, mine might be on the market this fall/winter when I finish the paint/body work.
I've recently replaced all the sheet metal in the rear to include the floor, inner fender wells, rear sill. I used locally fabbed 14 gauge galvanized and some 10 gauge steel for the...
ok, I've got a Holley which seems to work nicely, but I think I would gain gas mileage if I went to a progressive type such as the Aisin or Weber. Am I right?
So, it's a bit overwhelming on which one to look for, which one would make the easiest conversion.
The 2F is all desmogged and has HEI...
Thanks for all the feedback, both humorous and serious. I don't actually know what I'm getting due to tall tires and 3.70 gears, but I'll pursue some of the ideas. I just want it to be as efficient as possible for what I've got.
thanks all!
