I bought this trim panel/HVAC control from a non-nav LX470 to convert my old LX from navigation to a standard double DIN, but didn't go through with the conversion before selling the vehicle. Comes with the HVAC trim panel and pigtails (if you are looking to convert your 100series), double DIN...
You'll have to remove the entire thing and clean up any old adhesive/foam from the hatch and the trim piece. The 3M red heavy duty double sided tape will not hold that on if you're trying to stick it to old foam or a dirty area. If you want it to be permanently attached, remove, clean and use...
More free-ish mods. I took off the running boards on my LX over the summer, so I wanted some front flaps for the winter. Had these RallyArmor flaps laying around from my old Nissan Frontier. I used existing mounting holes and drilled/trimmed to fit in about 1hr. These have decent coverage...
These are made like this to be used dual purpose for both the tapered seat and washer style wheels. The idea is that some variants have tapered seat steel wheels as the emergency spare and washer seat alloys as the standard wheels. That's why they're $10 ea to buy new ones from Toyota.
Good thing I only skimmed this thread before doing my plugs; this thread almost makes me afraid to do spark plug work on any LX/LC, haha.
- If you don't use anti-seize, plugs will get old and will walk out or will seize into the head or require hours of soaking the plug well with PB Blaster.

Maybe a clogged heater core? If the heat is off, the coolant should bypass the core, so no cooling issues. If heat is on and the core is clogged, the clogged core would prevent proper flow causing overheating.
You should check SoC a few hours after driving, not a few days. Our vehicles will consume some level of power when sitting around, due to all the electronics.
5x LX470 wheels with tires that came off my 2001 LX. Tires are 275/70R16 Yokohamas that are older, but hold air and have ok tread. Spare wheel is the original OEM tire (somehow) and has peeling chrome; not too sure why the spare is chrome while the other wheels are not. $150 for all 5, including...
Just an example. There's lots of USB ports made for the standard size Toyota truck blank panels. I've thought about doing the same on my LX for easy power to devices on the pillar side.
WTF happened to that head? Mounting surfaces have been cut off the head... I guess they broke off the studs and did a crappy fix by cutting out the broken bolt and instead of drilling out? I would flip if I paid someone money for that...
I capped my rear AC lines and have working AC again! Fingers crossed that it holds up without new leaks in the front lines. This video I found on YT was very helpful for the cut locatiosn and included links for the fittings as well; not sure if he's a Mud member or not.
The major issues with lifted vehicles and towing are sagging due to rear spring rates and reduction of towing capability due to the need for a long drop hitch. The first one can be overcome with airbags, if it becomes an issue between spring rates with everyday livability and a preventing...
From PADDO in another thread:
My understanding from this info and from how Techstream monitors sensor data, the AHC needs to correlate FR and FL wheel speed to verify that the vehicle is actually moving and not just in wheel spin or sensor failure. So both need to be interrupted to create an...
Here's what I understand of this mod, in MSPaint form. You need a DPST switch because Pin 4 and 17 aren't connected to each other. The switch is there to interrupt the signal to both wires at the same time. When the switch is flipped to OFF, it disconnects both wires/circuits simultaneously, so...
If I were a new dad, I don't know that I would spend $10k (or $8k or $1k) on a broken vehicle, whether it's 4 yrs old or 40 yrs old. This thing is likely going to be someone's nightmare eventually; don't let it be yours. It's probably already the dealer's nightmare.
Something to consider: at a...
