    Truck starting itself

It's only a matter of time before the old owner of this truck puts two and two together and realizes I'm talking about his truck. I imagine there's not too many 80's out there that have had a winch welded to the frame, a radiator welded into place, or now this...an ignition that likes to fire...

Starting a rebuild - what would you do?

Circling way back here, but just thought it might be helpful. I replaced an ignition coil, six fuel injectors and the fuel pressure regulator. Runs like a champ now. Only engine code is the EGR stuck wide open, and the thing is frozen on. Lesson learned: don't take your truck to a s***ty shop...

    Shop Recommendation?

Anyone have a good shop in the Tacoma/Seattle area that knows cruisers? Looking for a good go-to.

Starting a rebuild - what would you do?

Yeah - I've owned it for a little over a year, and for most of that time it ran just as well as my last 80 that had an engine in great shape. (She was t-bone totalled). And yeah - def drove poorly with the cylinder 2 misfire, and I wasn't getting a code for 6. Possible then that cylinder 2 was...

Starting a rebuild - what would you do?

Thanks for the replies. Especially for the one that suggested I read the FSM as a solution. Ah, I've missed forums lol. @Comet - you said: "That cylinder six busted spark plug would be the first suspect" and @davidp14 said they thought the mechanic broke it. I'm thinking only one of those can...

Starting a rebuild - what would you do?

My '96 FZJ80 started misfiring pretty badly driving home the other day. I scanned a P0302 (cylinder 2 misfire), as well as another code I forget, but corresponds to some EGR malfunction. Long story short, in checking the spark plugs, my mechanic found oil in several (if not all - I don't recall)...

WARN VR10 Install on ARB Bull Bar

Old thread, but adding my experience in case someone finds themselves in a similar situation. In order to fit a VR10S on my 80 series with ARB bullbar, I needed the ARB spacer/control pack relocation bracket, as well as an offset fairlead.

Warn VR10-S 10k on arb bullbar compatibility

I just installed a VR10S on an ARB bullbar on my 80. Required an ARB spacer kit to let the winch housing clear so the feet could sit flush with the bolt holes and a control pack relocation. And an offset fairlead. And some longer bolts.

Can I ground my winch here?

    Oof, that sounds fun. Thanks!

Can I ground my winch here?

Apologies if this should have gone in the electronics section, will happily move if needed.

Can I ground my winch here?

Planning to install a Warn winch on my 80 this week and the negative terminal on my battery does not have a bit for accessories to fit on. Will I be able to safely ground the winch to the battery ground here, or should I get a new clamp?

    Front locker only?

Thanks all for the advice. Very helpful. I’ll use this all to figure it out.

    Front locker only?

Thanks - yeah I suspect I’ve got some troubleshooting to do on the rear. I don’t think it’s the bulb since it blinks, it just doesn’t light up steady.

    Front locker only?

Howdy. New 94 FZJ80 owner here. I hit the trail for the first time over the weekend to test out the rig, and have a quick question about the factory lockers. My 80 is triple locked from the factory. The center diff locks works, but when I enagage both front and rear, only the front locker dash...
