    Carb Woes

I think I may have really done it now. I am attempting to rebuild my carb. When I disassembled to clean, I got carried away and removed the paddles. Which now I have a big concern for me with those little bass screws. I am sure were meant to be removed. Do I have to worry about them...

    Throttle bracket on Carb

Here is a real left-hand turn, but what is the best option for converting over to EFI on a stock 155F? I see a lot of threads dealing with 2F engines. Besides the cost, there doesn't seem to be any reason not to convert. Jerry

    Throttle bracket on Carb

I thought it was more of a plug and play. I think I am going to scrap the idea and rebuild my original carb. Thanks for all help. Any suggestions on a good rebuild kit?

    Throttle bracket on Carb

Yes, I do. My problem is bracket does fit around the casing and the diaphragm mechanism gets in the way.

    Throttle bracket on Carb

I will check that out. Without modifying the bracket, I can't get it to fit using the base screws. I tried mounting using that screw in the middle but it binds just enough.

    Chinese Carb w/no fuel return

I have a pre-9/73 FJ40 with an F155 engine. I decided to give the Amazon carb a shot. My question is, can I add a fuel return by threading and drilling out this port? Is a return line necessary?

    External Ignition Resistors Smoke

First, I have a pre-9/73 FJ40 with the original F155 engine. The wire I plugged into the new starter is Black w/ YELLOW tracer. The unused wire is also black w/ YELLOW tracer but has an inline connector and is a smaller grade wire than the one I plugged into the new starter. Here are some...

The starter that I installed was .. Toyota 28100-60070-84 I believe it is the gear reduction starter from the FJ60. I will send pictures tonight. Jerry

    External Ignition Resistors Smoke

I will send a picture when I get home tomorrow. When I wired the new starter, I did not change anything. In fact, there was one wire I didn't use that was on the old starter. This is more than likely the problem.

    External Ignition Resistors Smoke

I am getting smoke out of the external Ignition Resistor when the key is in the on position. I had disconnected the wires to clean up the fender and install the upgraded starter. All the wire looks as it was before but now after a minute with the key in the on position, the resistor starts to...

    Preserve for Restro

I am wondering if there is a go-to for preserving metal (Frame, Engine, and Body) while waiting for the time and money to do a frame off. I am currently replacing the radiator (Ha, Ha) and have progressed to taking off all the front body panels on the FJ40. With access to the engine bay and...

    Radiator Replacement and Growing

When I opened the drain block it was crudded up pretty bad. Took a while to break through. The old radiator had some previous damage (looks like the fan blade must have broken off at some point). I wonder if the PO dumped some radiator stop leak in there. Anyways I was thinking of running...

    Radiator Replacement and Growing

Do you guys add a fan clutch to older models? If so, is this something a guy should look at? The list keeps growing! Jerry
