Thanks guys. Hopefully I didn't imply that I considered selling my vehicle rocket science, as I know it isn't, but I was hoping to get feedback from the GX community as the the market analysis I've done in Colorado doesn't make any sense - nearly every GX470 listed for sale in my area isn't...
So the time has come where we are looking to replace my 2004 GX470. It's a bone-stock ash blue mica, non-nav with 125k miles on it. We recently moved to Colorado from Oregon, and while I know prices in Oregon for these, I have no clue about Colorado (I've been here two weeks) and what I can...
I haven't done it myself yet (I plan to once I get sliders), so I can't provide any tips. You might try the search function, if you haven't already, as I remember seeing several threads showing people having done so. I'm sure there's several in that 200 page "What did you do with your 120...
A bad lock actuator would be my guess. I haven't experienced the issue with my GX yet, but I have in other vehicles.
I had a Nissan that had this issue, and the temperature of the lock mechanism would dictate if it would work or not - it worked in the mornings when it was cool, but not in the...
Nothing inherently special except for the additional features. Any flasher designed for the non-DRL 4Runner (which is what the add-on conversion cable was for, converting the DRL flasher to a non-DRL flasher for vehicles sold in markets where DRL's were not mandated) should work.
I'm honestly...
How is the sound on this setup? Is there much drone? I'm reluctant to replace the factory exhaust because I still haul small kids around and want to keep it quiet for when they fall asleep. I'm also not willing to run cat-free, so noise concerns aside, your setup seems promising.
I have a 5'x10' enclosed cargo trailer that I occasionally tow with my 2004 GX, and while the GX is not my normal tow vehicle for the trailer, it handles light duty runs to the hardware store just fine (I'm remodeling my house). With that said, I try to keep the load below 3500lbs, as the GX...
I normally keep my second and third rows down on account of hauling my kids around all of the time, but I did try driving with my second row propped up while hauling some larger items. My seat fell down one time when I hit a bump hard enough to rock the seat forward and disengage the lock tab...
You may have finally sold me on the snowflakes. I don't care for them in the factory white or the black that I've seen a few people do, but that grey does work, especially since we both have the same color GX. Mmmmm....
When I looked up my GX's service history, that was the label occasionally given for the "service engine soon" light that indicates oil change time. It didn't show that every time there was an oil change, so I can't say for sure that it doesn't mean something else as well.
I believe one antenna is for AM and the other is for FM. You might try swapping which antenna you have connected to see if that improves anything. I can say that I used one of those 2-to-1 adapters on another vehicle that had separate, amplified AM and FM antennas, and connecting both made the...
I believe so. I haven't paid much attention the KDSS-specific parts, but I believe the biggest changes for KDSS are rear axle sway bar mounting points.
I'm honestly not sure about the KDSS removal. I don't have KDSS on my GX, so it isn't something I've ever thought about or looked into. I know the sway bar mounts are different on KDSS-equipped models, but I don't know what impact that would have on swapping to standard sway bars. Hopefully...
Yep. The only major differences between the earlier and later models were the switch to VVTi (and 35 more horsepower) in 2005, the availability of KDSS starting in 2005 (I think), and the improved stereo options from 2006 on.
