Just want to thank the folks who suggested Dadja’s. Those guys really know there way around a cruiser and it’s nice to know there’s nothing they can’t handle. Just picked mine up today from them for the second time. While I hate it when my cruiser breaks, I love checking out the sea of assorted...
I can't find the sticky thread for this and I remembered it being pretty out of date the last time I checked.
I've got a 1989 FJ62 leaking lots of coolant, probably blew a hose on the water pump from the looks of it. I don't have the time right now to dig that far into the engine (especially...
My AC fan in my 62 went out slowly on my way to work today. Could be a number of things but since it died slowly I'm thinking the fan just died so I'll try a replacement.
Where is this thing? Under the hood, under the dash, behind the dash?
I bought these Metric-to-AN adapters so I could fabricate a hose to replace the transmission cooler lines in my FJ62:
One side is 14mm x 1.5 and fits the truck, and the other is -6 AN and fits the hose ends. But they seem identical, and both seem to fit the hose end snugly. How can I tell...
Lots of oil leaking from the base of the valve cover. Hoping I can just fix it with a gasket replacement.
Dumb question, though: do I need to drain the oil first or can I just pop this thing off if the engine is cold?
Just to finish this off for anyone who needs it later, turns out I blew the high pressure line on my power steering. Found an aftermarket one for about $120 on a Cruiser supply site. Don't even try to find an original Toyota part. They're all gone.
Literally drove it without power steering for...
My FJ62's power steering pressure hose has blown. I'm looking at the oem parts diagram, which looks like this:
the steering pressure line is marked with a "60". But the replacement on SOR looks like this:
Why only one line on the replacement? What's the similar line just behind the one...
Envious of you guys with your squeaky clean engine compartments. My shop kindly asked me to spray down my gunked up oil cooler with degreaser before i bring it back to look for leaks.
Thanks for the clarification @cruisermatt. I'm with you now. Any idea what diameter hose I need for an '89? Inside steel braided hose diameters on Summit seem to range between .125" (-3 AN) and .690" (-12 AN).
My front soft transmission cooler lines on my FJ62 are on their way out. I need to get them replaced asap or I'm afraid I might break a line on a long drive and get into trouble. Thinking about replacing all 4 while I'm at it.
Not surprisingly I can't find new ones anywhere. Looks like people...
Haha. I watched the videos on the FJ40 thread that micruz60 posted. I'm not sure I'm comfortable going that deep. Hey @rrv333 you're in Weatherford. Know a DFW repair guy that would do this?
