Listing my LX for sale on Bring a Trailer. Auction ends 4/7/22 at 6:07 EDT.
Here's a thread I helped put together about the Tesla-style radio: LC & LX470 Tesla Style Screen Radio Upgrade with Climate Control: General Discussions -...
Trying to track down a pair of the center vents (on either side of the radio/AC controls) for a late model (03-07) LC. Anyone with a pair to sell or a lead on a pair, please let me know.
It's definitely firmware -- it installs in the same process as a factory firmware update, and it adds functionality like the ability to adjust your phone mic volume, a few tweaks to the factory music player and a few other things I haven't fooled around with yet. Several issues that I had at...
For anyone interested in updating the firmware and customizing the styling on your Tesla style head unit, take a look at this Facebook group:
Tesla Style. Firmware and HeadUnits
Someone from an LC/LX group pointed me to it this week. The guy who started the group has developed a custom...
This is very similar to my experience buying off AliExpress (the story is somewhere earlier in this thread). Basically, they convinced me to drop my PayPal dispute, only to find out that it was just a trick, leaving me with no recourse. Buy from a company with American customer service, or...
There is no built-in Sirius tuner, but you can install the Sirius Android app and use your subscription over the data signal. I wouldn't expect on-screen menus with an aftermarket tuner, but I've never shopped for one so can't be certain.
No problem...looking forward to hearing how it turns out. The process is a little annoying because you have to reboot the device every time you change an input level, but once you get it dialed in it'll never be an issue again.
The reason our dual zone HVAC button doesn't work is because our vehicles actually never had that functionality to begin with. It's just a dummy button.
Have you gone into the settings that allow you to change the gain level for each type of input? I recall that making a big difference when I had issues with the levels being too high for some sources and too low for others. It's in the password-protected User Settings (8861 is the code, I think).
Be very, very careful with AliExpress sellers. I was ripped off by AutoStereo to the tune of $600, and I do believe that most of the sellers are actually just different faces for the same company. I sent a defective unit back to them in China, using the exact address and names they told me to...
1. Mine worked fine right out of the box in my 2006 'LX -- no splicing. But others here have definitely had different experiences, depending on the model year and whether it's an LC or LX.
3. I tried using a USB hub. It worked fine with a thumb drive, but I couldn't get it to work with my...
I'm pretty sure that "HU" is just an acronym for Head Unit -- the instruction is telling you to "Connect iPhone to Head Unit over Bluetooth, then click [Use CarPlay]"
My system is run through an external amp now, but when I first installed the Tesla screen radio it was connected to the Levinson amp, and I noticed a significant improvement in sound quality over the factory radio.
Have you gone into the user settings (the ones that require the 8861 code) to adjust the volume levels for individual sources? I think that may be contributing to the difference in volume that you're hearing from one source to the next. It's useful for leveling out all of the various inputs so...
Since you went with an aftermarket amplifier, the "Amp Info" settings under Console will no longer work. Those settings interfaced directly with the Levinson amp, so now that it's gone they won't have any effect. Use the Equalizer under Settings instead of the Amp Info under Console for sound...
I'm not in the truck at the moment, but if I recall correctly, there's a small square-shaped button in the bottom corner of one of the split screen windows that should activate whether you get full-screen or split screen.
Thanks for letting me know. I suspected it had something to do with how the responsive areas were mapped to the screen, but there were so many other similar apps to choose from that I didn't spend much time trying to figure out what it was. Nice troubleshooting.
