    FJ40 Mark/Downey Header

I second selling the stock exhaust and let folks that have other setups tweak it to fit.

    FJ40 Mark/Downey Header

@PabloCruise so it will work for those of us that have not flipped our rear springs and run sub 33' tires? Please help me understand, but the way I read it is you are trying to solve for a problem that is likely isolated to only people that have oversized tires AND flipped springs? Which I would...

    Sniper EFI

It's no big deal. Just unplug it from the main sniper body and re-run it how you want. I actually run mine over the brake booster and into the dash with the main harness. My scosche mount is right next to that hole on the right side of the dash, so no holes drilled.

    Sniper EFI

I used one of the Scosche Magicmounts you can find on amazon. If you dont like the dual sided tape on that one, Ram makes a magnetic mount that just sticks to the dash with magnets.

    Sniper EFI

I put it right next to the gauge cluster on the right. It has helpful data, so I like having it visible.

    Topnault 4 Speed Transmission Cover

I received one last week. No damage. Will definitely take some fitting. I had to elongate 4 of the holes as I just couldn't get them to line up. Next steps would be to weld in the areas so the holes arent so big. My 11/1974 also doesnt have the cowl drain holes, so I need to weld some sheetmetal...

    TrickyDick's Folly--Am I doing this right?...

I'll second @pb4ugo in seating the distributor is critical so you have oil pressure on your first cranks/start. It's a little finicky if you arent a pro. Lots of info around mud, so just use the search and you'll have the info you need.

    Help, Body panel fitment issue

I ended up cutting the CCOT panels in two pieces at the rear marker light as I couldnt get it to work as one piece. The panel was too long. Was a huge PITA and couldnt get them to fit out of the box. If you start by lining up the rocker end, put a few of the body bolts in to secure it in the...

    Adding winch?

The correct winch to add would be an 8274, but I dont think adding a winch has a direct correlation to price. If you add an 8274, I think your rig sells for the same price. You already have a desireable year, which is way more impactful to price. Condition, amount of rust and originality are...

    This happen to anyone else?

If you are in the 2" lift category, I believe you are correct and missing the two front shocks. The part numbers should be: (2) 33-062518 Bilstein 5125 Series Shocks Front (2) 33-185606 Bilstein 5125 Series Shocks Rear

    Bump stops

This thread may help you. Looks like behind that arrow plate you may have bolts for a bump stop like the US 40's. https://forum.ih8mud.com/threads/bump-stop-clearance.1330346/

    Pertronix vs Distributor fuel efficiency

I’ve run both and can’t speak to a difference. Fuel mileage does not drive this change for most folks, we make the move to get rid of points and have better reliability. Most folks here aren’t tracking fuel mileage, it doesn’t fall into a list of priorities for this type of vehicle. I think you...

You've done a great job with this 40. That wheel/tire combo is killer.

SOLD  San Antonio, TX - FJ40 Trans Tunnel Cover - 4spd

I have an 11/1974 FJ40 (blue) with quite a few rust holes on the trans tunnel cover. Would be interested in one that is in better condition if someone is willing to part with one for a 4 speed. Will be at Roundup this saturday. Otherwise located in SA, TX.
