    2003 Landcruiser Restored and Modified

Thank you for posting the link to Jonathan Ward’s download on Jack Carr’s 60 Series. I am a big fan of his work and have read/watched a lot about his truck. Had not seen that video. I will be watching your thread and wish you the best of luck. Life and money have got in the way of my build...

Gas tank building excessive pressure & fuel smell. Dangerous for sure! Why does this happen?

I have read about this issue in the past and finally had it happen to me this past Friday. Freaky for sure. I have a 1998 LX470 with 285K miles on it. Admittedly, it is old and there are plenty of items that probably need to be fixed on the truck. I had Trollhole go over it in January of...

I hate the thing, but can't get any sleep without it. Made a world of difference when I first started using it 15+ years ago. Not so bad if car camping. I have a Goal Zero Yeti that I use to power mine at night. I can get 2 nights - maybe 3 if I stretch it - out of one charge. Those that...

Events/Trails January Monthly Meet @ Gather GVL 1/21

Make sure you have a mask. The ladies at the front desk get up and wander around to give folks drinking a beer looking for othe UC members a hard time for not having the mask on and drinking the beer through the mask.

Events/Trails January Monthly Meet @ Gather GVL 1/21

This is literally right next to my new office. Looking forward to it. Now that I am working in Greenville I hope to be able to participate in some more of these.

I am probably going to go since it is so close to the house. My son said he wanted to go check out the rigs so I will probably be there. Tone & offset is a pain. We can chat then if you are there.

I have dabbled in Repeaterbook some looking for active repeaters in my area, but have only been able to get the one repeater in Hendersonville (W4YK) to work. It seems like the "bands are dead" any other time I get on the radio and scan for activity. I know that there has to be more out there...

I have the ubiquitous Baofeng UV-5R and just got a Yaesu FT3DR as a Christmas present. The Yaesu is slick, but it has so many menus and settings that it is overwhelming. Especially for one just starting out in this and not being totally familiar with all the acronyms and jargon. I'd like to...

I'd like to find an Elmer to teach me how to use the radio I've got. Got my technician license over a year ago and have been able to get on the weekly ham net in Hendersonville and have done some simplex transmissions helping direct the 2019 Christmas parade and that is it. I need someone to...

    This weekend?

Just a handful of people. About half way down the steps got very icy. Pretty treacherous. Not as bad as I have seen it in the past, but deceiving because you couldn’t tell the concrete was iced over. Rime ice. We enjoy going up there when it is snowed over or cold. Usually a small crowd.

What did you do with your truck this week?

Swapped out both of the front oxygen sensors despite the fact the Bank 2 one was the only one throwing a code. Hopefully this will result in better mileage as well as get the pesky code off the Scangauge. Now if I only had time to replace the solenoids in the transmission to get rid of my...

    M2V2 Phone Mount thread....

you can swing by the house or we can meet in town and you can check out the one I have installed. I, too, installed a Quad Lock base on mine. Works well. I personally would be leery of hanging an IPad off of it. My dash trim is not securely locked in place. Looks like PO’s have been in the...

    Alternator Replacement - A Saga

I wish I had the luck you guys are having getting the alternator out. I have tried going through the bottom and can't get the thing out and I have tried going through the top and can't get it by all the hoses and the tensioner pulley. I am leaning towards draining the radiator this weekend so...

    M2V2 Phone Mount thread....

@geanes Please do post photos of your iPad mini in the mount. My M2V2 arrived earlier this week and it was my plan to use it for the same purpose - iPad running Gaia. I'm interested to hear how it works out for you this weekend.

    My Overland Trailer Setup

That is sweet! It is precisely what I have been looking for. Your pictures and description are so good I am going to show to the wife and kick up the begging and pleading for a trailer a notch. How many do you sleep in the tent?
