    Well I got this project completed. Thank you to those who provided information. I put OEM weather stripping in. It is in the pic below for those who want the part number. This one also came from China, the DOT for the American plant is DOT 1038 for those interested.

    When I had the 80 painted the belt molding was removed. The inside weather stripping was so old it just cracked and fell off. Had to fix that. Old: New: BTW, doesn't that rearview mirror look good repainted!

    I just picked up some OEM goodness for the 80. Cracked my windshield in Death Valley this last winter so it's time to replace the windshield. Got the weather stripping along with a couple of other things.

    I did a touch up paint of the 80. I had all the paint failure corrected as well as having the side view mirrors done.

    I cracked my windshield in Death Valley and now in the market for aftermarket glass. Are there any aftermarket glass for the 80 that is worthwhile? I have a 1FZFE. Thanks ahead of time. BTW anyone hoarding any OEM Toyota glass in their attics are welcome to DM me! :p

    Goose Gear 80 Series Engine Replacement

    18 or so months later and I have had no issues with the new engine. It has run perfectly. The starter went out last month and I replaced it with a re-manned Denso. Other than than the engine purrs and feels rock solid.

    I did a new long block a few years ago for around $12k. I bought a new short block and naked head and bought all the pieces to make the head complete. My mechanic (who was a nightmare) charged way too little for his efforts. You can look at my build here: GG engine replacement.

    Buy it in Black and then find the SEM plastic paint code for the grey you have. I did that for my oak colored knob.

    I noticed that your handle is missing. You can buy a replacement that is dark grey and then paint it with the SEM paint. That's what I did.
