Me: '92 FJ80
1. Wife wants me to sell my LC :(
2. Says it's not safe with the way the baby seats have to strap in instead of clipping in.
3. I suck at welding, and my wife knows this, soooo out of the question.
Will the rear seats of a newer FJ (with baby seat clips) fit into my '92?
I've got a 1992 FJ80, and I found one site that said part # 85241-60012 would fit, but all of the web sites I'm finding say it doesn't. Does anyone know if this will fit?
Yep, you'll probably have to replace them all though as you usually destroy them trying to get them out, plus, make sure you can unscrew your engine mount bolts before trying to remove your oil pan. You'll need to raise your engine up to get the pan back in, and it'll still be extremely...
So Ive got everything cleaned up, just want to install pan, but I cant seem to get the pan in. I looked into jacking the engine up, but I don't have a hoist at the moment, and I don't see how to jack it up without putting the jack in the way of where the pan needs to slide to get it in...
I finally got the pan off. I took some advice from the FJz80 description and applied it. I removed a stabilizer/sway bar, and popped off one end of another stabilizer/sway bar, and was able to get a blade in there, and pry it open, though it took about 3 hours just to pry off the passenger side...
I have a '92 FJ80 not the FJZ80. I removed all 22 bolts that were on the underside of the pan & was able to get a razor in and eventually some small flatheads and pried the driver side of the pan off, but I can't seem to get access as easily to the other side. I'll try reading the above post and...
Hi all. I tried looking for an answer to this but came up short. I got half of my oil pan off, but am having a very hard time getting the passenger side free. There's lots of stuff in the way making it hard to get a blade in there, or flathead to wedge in there. Any advice would be greatly...
Can you do this on an FJ80? I just saw that there is a forum for this: 150 Amp Sequoia Alternator install with Photoman Bracket (Part 1 of 3) - https://forum.ih8mud.com/threads/150-amp-sequoia-alternator-install-with-photoman-bracket-part-1-of-3.1201563/ But it looks like his car is an FZJ80...

Sorry, the part was 14836 not 14832. I have an FJ80 not an FZJ80. My brother just mentioned that my grounding could have been poor, so ill check out continuity tomorrow, or see if I hooked it up improperly. I'd think even a cheap alternator from Chynna would last longer than 2 years...
I searched the FJ80 forum, and didn't see anything posted for best alternator. I replaced the last alternator with a duralast 14832, and it lasted 2 years 2 months before crapping out on me. I know these things don't last forever, but that seems pretty weak to me. I've replaced voltage...
lol, I have to admit I have been driving it a little more cautiously than I perhaps should. Thanks for the advice on downshifting earlier. If I get up the nerve, I'll try it again, with that RPM range in mind. Thanks!
Thanks for the response. Yea, it's the steep grade past Georgetown on I-70 that gets me. I can make it to winter park, but past Georgetown is just too steep. I've tried 2nd gear, but at best you are going 50mph, and with semi's going 75 it's just not worth it. My compression is amazing for over...
