Thanks Dave... as with a lot of these, there are several mods that are less than ideal. Open Country did a great job of getting most of the bugs worked out and running reliably. I hope to swap to a stock carb or maybe even a sniper or something at some point in the future. Its fun to tinker...
I'll bring a few 100-series things I've still got kicking around in the garage... make an offer/trade for 60 or 80 parts:
- 2006 LX electrical FSM
- CV boot kit
- driver-side valve cover gasket
Can send pics/Toyota part #'s
We moved out of our house last May for some water damage repairs that turned into a major renovation. We finally moved back in this February and are now getting settled back in.
I drive the 60 once a month or so to work and the last couple of times, it has been running really rough. Finally...
I'll be at RR, look forward to seeing the progress in-person. Nothing done to Pearl other than to drive it. I'll likely trailer it down and see what happens out on the trails; I suspect that will highlight some deficiencies to address
I attended a charity clay shoot today and bought a few raffle tickets... I WON!!
Unbelievable... I'm not that lucky
Benelli Montifeltro - super excited to go back in 2 weeks for another charity event and try it out
I've heard the same as well... it seems they are not approving FIFO. My first (in 2021) was 9 months but my 2nd (2022/2023) was 13 months.
I have also heard that if you file for a new stamp, most of the time that comes up before an existing that you have in queue and they will approve both...
I'm registering now and was reviewing the inspection list. I have a CB I can install but assume most everyone is using something else based on the the Standardized Comms thread although I didn't read all 7 pages - can someone help? Is there an Amazon special I can order that will be better...
Interesting... thanks for the feedback. Mine seems to have some hesitation at low to mid-throttle. I'll have to do some research on the City Racer.
Was the install difficult?
This is identical to what I "rented" from Advance... they worked well, I was a little skeptical but was never in fear I was going to die/lose a body part
Our son had a TJ that he learned to drive in. It was a fun vehicle... BUT: it constantly had some kind of issue (multiple sensor failures causing CEL's), electrical gremlins not to mention it was HOT in the summer and COLD in the winter to drive. They are GREAT as a secondary vehicle but will...
I worked with a professional mechanic last weekend to swap the struts/shocks on my Tacoma and he had the Milwaukee impact tools in every size. It was impressive how much faster it was... it was evident I needed a 1/2" impact. I already had some DeWalt 20v drills so I decided to stay instead of...
