Early production 1969 FJ40. 1F 3 speed converted to floor shift. I believe the drivetrain is original. Linkage still on column. Runs and drives well. Has a small leak at brake master cylinder and an oil leak at the remote oil filter adapter hoses, but have new parts for those. New OEM radiator...
Would the later model years carb insulator and heat shield combo fit on an early 1F? Would like to use it for the sniper install and utilize the pcv port.
Just wondering if this is stock or not (manifold to carb adapter). Showed a couple of pics to some vendors and they hadn’t seen a setup like this. It’ll be getting replaced with the sniper kit from @FJ60Cam. Looks to be a two barrel manifold with an adapter to a single. These early 69s confuse me.
Just ordered a Sniper kit from @FJ60Cam to install this summer/fall probably into winter. Very excited! While I got permission from the ole’ battle axe to spend money, was trying to research which distributor. I have read about DUIs and FJ60 distributors. I’m leaning towards an FJ60 distributor...
So I am planning on converting to fuel injection sometime soon. I’m set on on a Holley sniper and will go with Mosley Motors setup. I converted my 66 Mustang that I sold to get my 69 and I really enjoyed the fuel injection. I went out to see if there was a pertonix installed in the distributor...
Anyone ever used one of these for filling their radiator with coolant and purging all the air?

Getting ready to buy a new radiator and have always wanted to give these a try, just wondered if anyone knows if these will fit our radiators?
Anyone know if these are factory windshield washer nozzles? I’m thinking no but can’t seem to find any online. I have a washer fluid tank/pump that comes with the tubing, just not sure how it routes in the engine bay with the dual nozzles.
Was going to replace my screws for the inner panel on the lift gate that covers the latch mechanism. Seems the kit from cruiser corps is too big and different thread pitch. Researching this on the forum I see some people cut their own threads. Anyone have a source for these yet? I had to drill...
Didn’t want to hijack other threads. Looking for a new radiator for my early 69 with a 1F. Lots of aftermarket companies advertise theirs fit 1958-1984. Would that mean an OEM through those years fit an early 40? Definitely would rather have an OEM for my 1F.
Went out to look at replacing my ignition switch. I have the early style ignition with the screw in style wires.
After seeing that, I did a little research because I got a new ignition switch with the 40 that didn’t look like it would work. I now know you have to cut the connectors on the...
After a month and a half of talking to @Ben edwards shes finally here! More pics to follow. Shout out to Ben for answering all my noob questions and being super patient and making this a smooth purchase!
Like the title says, I’m in western WA and I’m looking for a 40. Never have owned one and never drove one either. I’m looking for something that is rust(rot) free. Patina is fine, preferred really just don’t want to patch holes or do body work. I’m a pretty good mechanical person. I’m ok if it...
First post, been lurking a while. Don’t own a 40 yet but just doing some research. Question I have is if a stockish height 40 would fit in my garage. It measures 6ft 11in and the driveway is on an incline if looking out of the garage. Looks as if a stock 40 is around 6ft 5in. Pic of my Tacoma...
