May have inadvertently misspoke in my description. Meant a bit too much "exhaust" fume is why I want try to get the pump working and see if that mitigates the issue.
Appreciate you sharing this. The FJ is out of reach for a short while as I am traveling. No way to send a pic right now. Thank you for the suggestions.
What's your thinking? My FJ is running, has been since acquired, without the belt on the pump but seems a bit too much gas fumes. Thought replacing the belt could help with that.
Any suggestions for determining the correct size (or a link to a part number) for replacing a missing belt for a 1978 FJ40 air injection pump. SOR's is out of stock/discontinued.
Think it’s a stock part for an early version of a blitz can holder. Have this one on an FJ for over more than 10 years without problem and looking to find one for a second FJ.
Looking for this lower bracket with rubber bumper for a blitz can holder. New or used. Any suggestions are appreciated. Picture attached. For the fun of it, a pic of the new rear plate. State plate is on the front.

You may have seen this comment, I'm stumbling a bit on the thread...You are both correct. I just compared both of my 78's and one is countersunk into the a recessed on the hinge and the hinge is different with the surface flat on this red one. Interesting to learn about this.

Thanks. Thought about that and don't rule it out but concerned about the heat just expanding the tightness. Might be better to heat the zerks but hard to reach. There are a lot of good suggestions that have been offered. I'll start with getting the proper Japanese Philips head and ratchet or...
Great. Seems to suggest the current body color is stock and was painted with the roof on explaining why the primer under the roof edge when removed. Looking inside it seemed certain it was not repainted.
