Does anyone have a copy of the overhaul instructions for the later model R151F transmission?
I have a 2009 HZJ79 R151F. They are similar to the 1980s version which I have a manual for, but there are a lot of differences as well especially in the synchronizer and shift fork areas.
2007 was the...
I've read of a couple guys getting them in 33x9.5R15, 2 Suzuki Samurais and 1 FJ40. They look GREAT in their pictures! Although on a 15x8 rim, I didn't like the look quite as much as 15x6.5 & 15x7
Just an FYI, I inquired with Kenda about the weight of the tires, & availability at present, because they always seem to be short on stock since their introduction last fall.
I very promptly received an email from Kenda:
"The weight of this tire is 50.24 lbs. The tires are in production and...

These things are my #1 pick for my Samurai on Toyota drivetrain for my next tire purchase... Now I just need some cool 15x6, 15x6.5, or 15x7 alloy wheels! Randmasters would be the dream!

Try a 1995 & older bellhousing and input shaft, that's the only advice I can give you.
You might find that are 1" shorter, but that's the absolute shortest you will possibly find.
I would suggest relocating the transmission and transfer case back 1 inch as well.
It actually came from Canada originally, it was in a mining truck that was parted out, 2009 HZJ79. I'll be running the transmission and transfer case from it behind a VW mTDI swap and Doomsday Diesel clocked adapter plate
If you have an extra high pinion 8" front differential out of a 70...

Couldn't figure out how to reduce the size of the image beyond cropping it, on my mobile phone, even with Photoshop for mobile, and the forum kept telling me it was too large of a file after cropping...
I had to text message it to my work phone to downgrade the resolution...
You're in Canada? What's the cheapest US carrier to ship to Canada through? FedEx? USPS?
This thing is just taking up valuable space in my limited shop area, and it would save me the hassle of listing it and dealing with eBay etc if you wanted it.
Thanks!
Hey I've got that bellhousing for you if you want it. The input shaft I have is a little chewed up on the tip, but you can get them brand new still. It's probably the same part # as a North American Toyota Tacoma or 4Runner V6 1996-2004 input shaft.
I was eventually going to list this...
The Marlin Crawler mod using all R452 gears gives you the deeper 1st 2nd & 3rd, but nearly identical overdrive 5th. And of course as with any five-speed transmission, the same 1:1 4th.
The R452 5th gear mod (and Terrain Tamer mod), gives you the same R150 or R151 1st-4th ratios you already...
