FWIW I was able to sell all of my functioning nav and ML parts including sub and speakers on eBay and ended up in the green for the whole project. The nav display fetched $400 alone.
I think the answer is that there was something in the Levinson system that initiated the original amp to start or whatever, and the nav delete removed that trigger. At any rate, I yanked the ML amp and sub and I bought a self contained under seat unit and stuck it under the passenger seat. I ran...
My Lseat covers came in - pretty quick after ordering - and the first thing my wife said when looking at them is "those look cheap, look at that texture!". Oh well!
I like them, they look fine, don't mind the pebbly texture, i'm sitting on them fully clothed after all.. they'll be a big upgrade...
Are there any obvious air conditioning "i'm alive" things I can look for, feel for, or listen for in the engine compartment or cabin? my engine was pretty torn apart a few weeks ago and i have noticed that even though my AC light indicates it is working, there is no change in air temperature...
hmm... this LX -> LC conversion but sub in the 7" round headlight buckets and new grill from landcruisergrilles ... lets see how close car-part thinks a black LC hood is to everett..
Thanks for posting!
After spending 3wks at Torfab for a bunch of maintenance things I don't have time or talent to handle, yesterday I accidentally discovered water underneath rear carpet ... now I'm pulling trim from around the side window and trying to figure out why water is dripping down this little plastic...
Curious if you ever added lights to those Trail Tailor mounts and how you ran the wire. I added lights to mine and just ran the wire in over the seal, but I think water is getting in somehow maybe dripping down the wire. I’d like to see someone’s better solution.
This is the guide that I’ll be following whenever my new seat covers show up. It’s pretty in depth.

Really appreciate your post @aharlan001 - been back and forth about this but went ahead with Lseat based on your review. Hopefully I'll get the 1wk turn around reported a few months ago, and not one of those customer service nightmares others have.
I’ve tried adding a little tape to the buttons inside the climate control to get better contact with no luck. Tried cleaning the inside of the silicone caps and still they didn’t work. Frustrating to not be able to set the clock, turn on defrost or mirror defrost, etc... I haven’t tried...
After my hack job soldering, all buttons are replaced and now work. Bought twenty five $.17 buttons, a desoldering iron, and a soldering iron. Spent less than $50 and now everything is working. Being able to set the clock is definitely the best outcome of this little project.
I think its one bulb used across the whole circuit board. You'll need to completely disassemble the unit to reach the front of the circuit board to pop the bulbs out and replace them. There's a video on YouTube of it that includes how to solder new buttons in.
Yes, I bought these and installed them. They make the panel light up orange - very warm color, which is cool, but I didn't know that. I didn't look closely for color. They are not LED.
This is the winch I am using with my T17: SMITTYBILT X20-10 COMP GEN2 WATERPROOF WINCHWITH SYNTHETIC ROPE
I hate where the control box is though.
Not to hijack the thread, but what creative solutions have you all found for where to put it? Mine is just wedged in, I think I am using black duct...
