t-case = transfer case...... attached to back of transmission. Transfer case provides the power to the front axle and low range gears.
Speedo cable is plugged into the t-case, where it is turned by gears off of the output.
Just follow the black speedo cable which comes through the...
Hi,
There's a little tab latch on there on '79's .... made of nylon or something plasticy.
If you can get the instrument cluster out just a fraction, you can shine a flashlight in their and see the thing. Mine is always a booger to get loose. Not having much slack in the cable...
I guess it's just a personal thing, but, to me at least, it just seems more intuitive to have two sticks for two functions.... rather than "stirring" that one stick in a circle.
And, any DIY post where the DIY'er used their head for something other than a hat rack... and came up with a...
Warn Hub Instructions
Hi Stroker,
They don't make it blaringly obvious on their pages, but Warn has instructions for most stuff there.
Premium Hub instructions:

If there is a remote possibility that you had automatic hubs, there are...
Trot on down to Homo Despot or Lowes and get you an OXY/MAP kit. That's about the next best thing to a flame wrench. Make a little box or rack to hold the Oxy and MAP tanks, otherwise they are like trying to herd cats. It will cherry red most stuff in short order. Just wish they...
Hi Nelson,
Welcome to the area.
You can start looking for cronies by clicking above on the "IH8MUD Forum" and at the next screen, look down toward the bottom and you will see a listing of mini-forums for clubs. Amongst that group, you will find Upstate Cruisers.... in South CackyLaki...
'Very thing happened to me tonight. Half way to work..... let off gas..... roar/grind. After a little head scratching.... turns out the T-Case lever had been knocked slightly out of 4Hi when I tossed my gear in to go to work. You might check the linkages.

Square Bezel
Hey Mark,
Sure would like to see how that works out on a "modern" - "improved" ;) square bezel cruiser. Since the lights are a few inches further apart, would it block them any ? Or, have you given thought to a slightly modified hoop for that ?
Thanks,
John
Having spent 14 years in the medical equipment business, I'd know that one anywhere.
It's a proctological exam device.... an exploratory sphincter instrument. It's for testing run-out.
Hell... If I was on the procto table and saw that, I'd run out for sure !!! :bounce:

Hey Paul,
I'm here in Charlotte and have a '79. 'Live over near Eastway/Shamrock.
I'd be more than happy to help you.
Wiring is not a problem for me.
Email is best way to get up with me. I work 3rd shift at the airport.
I've got Fridays and Saturdays off and am free from ~7:30 am...
I have a suspicion that there may be some confusion lingering here.
Are you thinking some plates that fit in between springs ?
Or....... the product, "Slipplate" (note: one word), which is a graphite goop that a lot of guys use ?

Those look pricey.
Try the Mac valves:
http://george4wd.taskled.com/airlocker.html
They are available from several sources.
I think quite a number of folks are using them in lieu of ARB solenoids.
Don't loose the McMaster-Carr address.... the "muffler" for the Mac valve is available...
'Following a big Asplundh or Davey tree trimming rig the other morning on the way home from work. Noticed he had all LED lights. Neat-o thing was the big yellow caution lights, mounted high on the back, were strobing. 3 or 4 short, rapid blips and a pause, then 3 or 4 more and a pause... and...
Yeah, it's true. The typical scenario is this:
Did you ever note that superconductor experiments are done in extremely cold material ?
Electrons don't flow very well in hot conductors.
(1) A little grunge occurs in a solder joint or contact fitting.
(2) The resistance of that point...
