On the build sheets:
FIO - factory installed options
PIO - port installed options
Been told by a member that there are already 550s rolling around in Austin. Our dealers are expecting 14 a month (find the previous thread on what is being prioritized and how many). I believe premium+, luxury...
Holy crap...that's insane!
I'm hoping to get my hand on some physical build sheets in the next few days, but I've been informed that these are completely loaded with almost every option realistically possible. So, I'm guessing anywhere from 5-10k+ of options? Is it too late to rethink the LX...
Lucky you! What dealer did you go through?
With two Lexus dealerships (odd we have two for such a small city), they have their build sheets but no firm conformations on allocations :(
If we are talking only the Torsen system, yes..it is designed to send power to both front and back with a rear-wheel bias (i.e., acting as a rear-wheel drive vehicle). Yes, I am aware of how the mechanical gears work..I posted a detailed explanation many threads ago.
The bias part was uncertain...
First, the EPA comment was made to keep things comparable...there were arguments made using MPG from very different time periods. If you took that as a personal attack...I got nothing.
Second, I'm pretty sure I know how Torsens work..btw, never said it was clutch-based (I was very careful NOT...
I want to add a bit to my original post that was a bit cheekish...apologies if that offended anyone. It's Friday!
One could argue that the part-time system has really crappy gas mileage compared to the full-time 4wd system (the counter argument being made)!
The limited has a very advanced...
Yes, I think @Corbet meant hold...there appears to be several recalls and holds being announced from Toyota (GM has a very big one on immediate stop sales for the Canyon because of a major software issue...yikes)
Now add in GVW into both trims...just stating the trims is not enough.
Your comparison doesn't make sense to me...both systems have either a transfer cases or Torsen system that adds weight, and they both add parasitic drag to the main drive line.
I think the difference you are quoting above...
Nice!
can you share the spec sheet for the OT+? Gives us an idea on how much crap they're adding to the base..I can only imagine it have everything and then some.
I feel bad for @OGBeno...he's probably like where the hell did this go sooo wrong.
Additionally, he's reflecting back on his life for that one pivotal incident that led him to this moment with us degenerates!
