Hey everyone. I just realized I lost the trim piece on the passenger side rear of the roof rack somewhere. Was wondering if anyone had one lying around before I bought a brand new one. Thanks.
17 highway if I'm careful. P-metric 32's and my rig has morphed into a pickup truck with only the front two seats and usually only has me in it, so lighter than standard.
I missed that this is 1000 miles from you. I'd probably not spend that to ship a car in that condition unless it was very cheap. You can find something like that locally. If it was your neighbor and you could take it around the block I'd say go for it
NY/VT person here. Honestly that doesn't look bad for the region. Annual undercoating treatments are not uncommon here and, it's hard to tell, but that might be what is seen in the pics. If you want to buy locally that isn't bad, if you're willing to ship something you could def get something...
I got lucky and my globes turned out to be fine(this was at 180k, at 210 now), but you could always do a graduation test and see where you stand. Replacing them can’t hurt, but it’s not as if you need to remove them to replace the lines.
I’d think that 4 cans should be plenty. It will leak, but...
You'd be surprised. I bought my truck in 2018 with two leaking lines (DS front, PS rear) due to rust. I replaced those two and left the rest alone since they didn't look nearly as bad and the job, particularly in the rear, is a total PITA. Kept the other lines handy just in case. 4 years of...
Agree with most on here. Being in the northeast, I got a very good deal on a somewhat rusty LX with a corroded AHC line that slammed the suspension. My body is admittedly cleaner than yours, but my undercarriage is definitely worse. Would I have bought my truck as the basis for a big project...
That could 100% cause your codes. I just replaced mine for corrosion problems and had intermittent and various codes(though not that one specifically. Mine is slightly different as I have an '04, but I found a clean used harness on eBay for $70. Your part number looks right, though was...
I know if the battery is disconnected and the wheel turned while it's off, the VGRS can be wonky, but will generally go through a calibration over the first few miles and reset itself. Is it possible the power was disconnected recently? A zero point calibration might be the ticket.
Also, I'd...
I did the Tesla style android head unit linked in post 7 about 3 years ago and it has been great. Liked it enough that I did something similar in my 2017 Subaru as well.
That pic is my car, not the OP, but yes I had worn out rack bushings as well. Replaced the passenger side with poly, chickened out on replacing the driver side…
Missed this post. Ok my theory here is the rack moved enough that the thrust stopper at the body end of the intermediate shaft (round washer looking thing with a gap in the pic I posted above) grabbed and pulled loose the boot at the body. Then the boot and clamp assembly worked their way down...
Having just done some work on my 04's steering rack, it's hard to picture what that could be. The rack doesn't have a boot with a clamp there, just a little cap. The only thing I can think of is that the clamp and boot from the body side of the steering shaft came loose and worked their way down...
5 hours and 3 broken oil pan bolts later, I’m done and that connector was definitely the problem, it shifts great now, no hesitation in 1st. Also, was nice to see virtually nothing on the magnets in the pan so I think the trans is in decent shape.
Yeah, I went ahead and ordered the Ebay harness which just arrived. If the old connector were in a place where I could repin the connector without removing it from the car then I would have just replaced the connector, but the price for a used harness was low enough that if I'm pulling it anyway...
