Short version is I don't really fit comfortably in an 80 series (i'll explain more below). After owning a couple 100s and a couple 80s on my LC Journey, I think the right cruiser for me and my needs is a 100. I'm honestly borderline reluctant, what i mean by that is though i am realistic on the...

Hi everyone.
Bought for my GX and never installed before i traded it in. Asking $260 shipped. NEVER USED! There are a couple of these depending on whether you have air suspension and such so please verify in this thread that this is the correct part for you...
So, i understand that the bumpers that come up under the headlights are obviously not compatible with one another because the headlight shape is different, but with bumpers that only come halfway up and cut off the factory bumper in a straight line, what makes it so that i can't use a...
Full disclosure, i sorta know the guy from trying to work out a trade on his 100 for my 80 (i ended up selling the 80). He was upfront about everything and a nice guy, and i figured you would all want to take a crack at this low miles locked 100 series...
At least i think it's a premium based on wood inserts in the steering wheel.
I called the dealership today and asked about the timing cover and valley plate. The used cars manager called me back (it is a toyota dealer) and said they're aware of the known issues, so they checked for both and he...
So it looks like my 80 isn't going to sell, and with 25 year old springs (and probably shocks) if I'm going to like this thing, I'm going to need to need new suspension. I want as little lift as possible to run the 315s I'm picking up from a forum member (that i am getting for a song). The guys...
From what I've gathered. You should be able to turn an 80 swries with one finger. I can turn with one hand but definitely not one finger. Steering is stiff at all speeds.
Misc:
- 97 LX450, 240k miles
- excellent condition truck. Very clean, but u have found signs the previous owner did some off...
Here's my for sale thread with tons of detail and photos.

short version is i'd like something with the LATCH system for 2 car seats, and i miss my 100 series!
Hey guys - I may be keeping my 80 series instead of selling it, and have decided on 35s (got a good deal on a set thanks to a mud member).
Anyhow, i'm pretty set on a Dobinson lift because 1) they get great reviews and 2) they are local to me (about 30 min drive).
So, on their website, they...
Edit: may consider trade for clean '03+ 100 series (prefer no AHC) or GX470/460
Another thing. the price will only be the price for a short time, as i'm likely going to be ordering some parts for it (such as new suspension and stuff)
She's at the shop getting all new fluids and filters and...
I've searched thoroughly and i have seen only one one rig on here with this tire size (with limited photos). I'm hoping a few of you guys have some more, because i have a set of these just sitting in my yard and i'm trying to determine whether to spend the cash on a set of 17 inch wheels for now...
Hey guys. i'm 6'3" and after watching the video on the Land-Tank seat extension it's just not something i'm going to do. My question is, you often see aftermarket manual seats for reasonable prices (or junkyard seats), and i keep coming across these Corbeau brackets for $125 a piece. The...
Edit: pry-bar did it!
Hey all, so the viscous coupler in my 97 LX is seized and I am working 16 hour days for the next month or so. I decoded to take it to a mechanic, but I want to disconnect the front drive shaft so I can drive it there.
1) is that correct that as long as I remove the front...
Hi all. I'm coming from a 100 to an 80, but i have a TJ also, so i am not unfamiliar with SA vehicles, and this doesn't seem right. Here it is.
When i am at a stop, say, in a parking space, and i put the truck in reverse, it will back out on its own power just like any normal automatic. If...
Dilemma. I'm looking to trade my 100 for an 80, and I haven't had much luck, except what seems like the perfect situation. Guy is only about an hour away and his 80 looks great. Has a lift but I'm ok with that (though depending on specs I may remove).
The issue. My LX470 has under 200k and this...
See photos below for condition, but to put it in words, it's in great shape except for a few things.
The good:
- NNOOOOOO RRUUSSTTTTT!!!!!!! NONE!
- The motor is incredibly strong / low mileage for year
- Recently did timing belt and water pump - less than 500 miles ago
- Second row of seats is...
Hey guys - the title is simple and the short version is i want to trade my 99 LX470 for an 80 series. (it's a nostalgia thing for me, as i spent tim ein central america as a kid and we had one in the family). This truck is used for my 5 mile commute to work when it's raining or too hot to take...
Needed tires and found a set local. Have them in the back and on the way to get them tossed on. Do I need to go buy lugs? My LX470 (1999) has the acorn style but they’re tapered at the end.
