    Tacoma shocks swapped. Update 09/22/19

How it sits at the moment. Unsure if the coils would settle down, but ride has improved dramatically compared to the over inflated airbags. Very happy with the results and can enjoy driving the plush ride once again.

    Tacoma shocks swapped. Update 09/22/19

Replaced it with the new console box hole. Didn't find the need to use the controls so this was a better option. Took rear pane off and bolted the bolts to existing hole where the OEM handle snapped into. Fisnished product. Question is, "would I use it?" 😂.

    Tacoma shocks swapped. Update 09/22/19

New extended boot is in. Brown greae goes into inner boot and black grease went into outer boot. Used a worm clamp as seen here since I extended the boot. Oem clam was too big to provide stronger clamp. My diy coil conversion kit. Hockey pucks, energy suspension for the lower isolators...

    Tacoma shocks swapped. Update 09/22/19

My coil conversion kit. It's a DIY kit. New rear door handle with hardware. Airbag/comfort /sport control delete with this console box hole. Good for putting coins in! Old boot ready for repair. Exposing and cleaned off the tripod. I reused the lower part of the old boot as you can see...

    Tacoma shocks swapped. Update 09/22/19

Replaced a few things and added some upgrades yesterday. Cv axel on passenger side ripped, so bought a cv boot kit from Amazon (genuine Toyota parts) to do the repair. Tnever did a job like this, it was very time consuming/tedious to say the least, but rewarding knowing I did the work. I did a...

What Did You Do With Your 120 Today?

Work was done yesterday, but repaired my cv boots, did rear coil conversion with Toytec Superflex, deleted airbag control, changed fluids on front diff and transfer case, and added rear door handles.

What Did You Do With Your 120 Today?

Added lift support struts to the rear tailgate. Opens so much easier and wife approves! Only thing to be mindful is your surroundings when opening, it'll leave either a nice scratch or a big ass dent!

What Did You Do With Your 120 Today?

What did you guys do to your GX today? Cleaned and conditioned my seats today. Cannot stress the importance of maintaining the leather in our seats! Had them treated today, took some time to clean then condition, but man, sure does make the seats feel more "supple". This also extends the life of...

    Tacoma shocks swapped. Update 09/22/19

I hear great things about Dobinsons. Great setup. I was initially worried about lifting with kdss but this site helped reassured doubts. I had Wildpeaks on my 3rd gen 4runner, loved the way how they ride! You keeping stock wheels or upgrading? Post pics when you get it out from the tire shop!

    Tacoma shocks swapped. Update 09/22/19

Glad the install went well, what did you lift it with? The sway bar is a PITA. Glad I read up in advance before I did the lift. But with a jack and another set of hands, it's pretty easy to align the sway bar back in place. I think the boot just ripped recently, so the internals should be...

    Tacoma shocks swapped. Update 09/22/19

Did you get the lift installed? Side note, just noticed the passenger side cv axel has either ripped or is loose. Hopefully just loose, grease has shot around the brake lines, knuckle, and chassis. Benefits and coincidence AFTER the lift of course 😒. Thinking of buying an oem repair kit or...

    Tacoma shocks swapped. Update 09/22/19

Cool. I've already ordered the make shift /diy stuff. Toytec superflex is supposed to add 2 inch of lift so it should be right where I need it to be. Benefits from the SSO kit is that you can adjust the shims to level it should it lean. But yes, post pics!

    Tacoma shocks swapped. Update 09/22/19

Ended up on the GXOR page on Facebook. I read that there are few guys who runs the coils in the rear and just let the weight of the truck hold the coils in place due to a slight bump on the axel perch, which I don't feel comfortable with metal on metal rubbing. Got a few ideas to use hockey...

    Tacoma shocks swapped. Update 09/22/19

I keep reading (no real definitive answer) about some of the guys here use a "Puck", "caster wheels" as the base to keep the rear coils in place, anyone here know any details about that before I shell out $100 on the SSO conversion kit? Thanks.
