What have you done to your 100 Series this week?

Got my drivers side front end refresh back together and moved onto the passenger side. Had to add additional spacers for the lower control arm to fit. Still have to torque everything and replace tie rod end but I need to find some bigger wrenches. Hopping passenger side goes quicker.

Replacing lower control arm "No. 2 Bushing"

I added two additional spacers and it fit in easily.

Replacing lower control arm "No. 2 Bushing"

Here are a few more pictures with width measurements from my old one and my new front left and right. It looks like the new OEM front left one is smaller than the orthorhombic two. So are spacers the best option or should I try to expand it a little?

Replacing lower control arm "No. 2 Bushing"

It looks like one or two more spacers might work. Is 90560-49001 the correct part number for them?

Replacing lower control arm "No. 2 Bushing"

Here are some pictures of mine. It currently only has one spacer. I checked the measurement of the old LCA from inside edge to the rubber spacer and the old one was 1/8 wider than the new one I’m trying to install. I ordered it from Japan so it could have possibly been damaged in shipment.

Replacing lower control arm "No. 2 Bushing"

Yes torsion bar is disconnected. Using new OEM lower control arms. I’ll try and get a picture tomorrow but it was like the no 2 bushing side was off by 1/4 of an inch when I tried to attach it.

Any tips or tricks for RE-installing the lower control arms. I’m having a hard time getting mine to line up with the bolt holes.

What have you done to your 100 Series this week?

Front end refresh has been slow. Got the driver side upper control arm in, repacked wheel bearings. I bought some OEM ones and was going to switch them out but they were Timken bearings and looked almost new so I repacked and reused them. OEM brake pads installed. Can’t break the tie rod...

Thank you! I hit it harder and it popped out. Boot on it was pretty trashed.

What have you done to your 100 Series this week?

Started my front end refresh. Does anyone have a trick for popping the upper control arm ball joint loose? I watched Chows YouTube video and his method of hitting the sides is not working for mine.

I replaced mine with glass ones from a 99 so I believe they are interchangeable for the earlier LXs. I only have drivers side left.

Impex is LEGIT 4 new AHC globes. Door To Door from Japan, less than 2 weeks

Just received most of my front end refresh parts from Impex. Fedex delivered them 6 days after they shipped from Japan. Shipping was $300 but still much cheaper than my local dealership.
